Colorado Lowered the Minimum Wage  

How could they possibly benefit from cutting 3 cents from the minimum wage? I'm so confused. That's so silly. I've never heard of minimum wage DROPPING. But hopefully they don't do that in Minnesota.

There's something in the state constitution that says minimum wage will change based on cost of living and cost of living went down this year so the minimum wage goes down too. I personally think it's ridiculous. Because of all the rich people and celebrities living in Aspen and Vail Colorado is a hard state to live in and make any money. It's a state of royalty and paupers. If you're not in the upper crust then you are struggling paycheck to paycheck. If they'd leave the minimum wage alone when the cost of living decreases then people might be able to get ahead. Granted $.03 an hour isn't going to help someone make a car payment but what happens if next year it's $.10 or $.15....it will start to add up at that rate.

Such a small reduction doesn't make a difference -- it's just happening because of their cost of living adjustment law. Usually there's inflation so the minimum wage goes up but that doesn't really mean people are earning more in real terms. That said, a lot of people would love to have jobs that pay less than the minimum wage at this point...it might make sense to lower it temporarily to reduce unemployment until the economy recovers.
