Do You Still Have An Encyclopedia?

Yes, I still have encyclopedias. One cannot always trust what they read on the Internet. Also, I have some old encyclopedias. They have information at times that you don't find anywhere else. Also, the older ones give you a sense of what a city, town, or country was like a the time it was written.

Yes I still have them and it is neatly stacked in the shelf. They are leather bound and look very elegant. I do open them maybe twice a year when I am morbidly bored and have literally nothing to do. But once you open them it can be quite engaging. There are lots of things that I still don't know despite poring over thousands of articles on the internet. And I think that books give a nostalgic feeling that internet doesn't.

Yes, I still have an encyclopedia all set volumes. I just used it for few times only. I see it educational but a boring in a way that some words are more harder to understand. Much needed with dictionary. Some research sources can be found there but not all in general topics.

no, in fact i've never had an encyclopedia. :) when i was a child, my dad couldn't afford to buy one. and now, seems no need to buy one. i think my boyfriend will say this to me, "why do you waste money to buy an encyclopedia which you can read it on internet totally free?"

I have an encyclopedia that I inherited from my parents. But I rarely use it, it's more comfortable and faster to check on wiki.

I still have some buried somewhere in the nexus of insanity that is my storage room. Have not had a call to use the actual hardback encyclopedia in several years. I mostly use the Internet. An encyclopedia also came free with the computer, so I load that up if I need to look up anything.

Yes we do, they in boxes in the GARAGE.LOL

i use the internet now to look things up, so i find it pretty pointless to have one laying around.

Hi nocturne: It's funny what you have written because in my house it was my mom the one that love to buy Encyclopedias for us and when i was a kid i love them for the same reasons. For me these Encyclopedias had all the human knowledge XD Lol. and I love to watch their pictures. Now they are obsolet but I have a collection of some Encyclopedias of Math, Geography, Litterature, History, Biology, etc. in the library of my hose. Thanks for starting this interesting discussion. I have one Encyclopedia and that's it! It's gathering dust at the top of my book shelf! Chances are it's way out of date now and I don't rely on this for my information anymore! I much prefer to read about things on the Internet, this is definitely the way to go! I love books however and I am a book worm but only in so far as I love reading fiction! Andrew
