Are you still looking at your computer keyboard while typing?  

Sometimes... not exactly. I sometimes do it, but most of the time, I don't even know why I know how I type. If you told me to write the letters one by one then I wouldn't know.

But it's like second nature now to me, I guess. :P :P :P :P :P

Yes, constant practice will greatly increase your typing speed. Like you, I no longer look at the keys in the keyboard. My fingers know where to strike and I do it quite fast. I have studied typing and I am using home keys as well. In other words, I am using the proper way of typing, using home keys, and I can type very fast without looking down.

I learned to type in High School and made my living all my life by typing. So I don't have to look at the keyboard at all. I thank God I learned to type and its something I love to do. I just wish I could find a good paying job from home typing papers or reports for people. That would be great. They say the more you practice anything the better you will get. I have learnt typing and my speed on the computer is almost thrice as that of my typing speed on a typewriter. This light touch is so appealing that it is a pleasure to type on the pc keyboaord. My new pc has a black keyboard which did worry me a bit to start with but now I am used to it.

I have always managed to touch type. When I was 9 or 10, my mother forced me to sit in front of the computer and type out the alphabet over and over again without looking at the keyboard. I hated the practice because it was so long and boring but when I entered high school, I was very thankful. So I guess, yeah, constant practice does make perfect. :)

sometimes. when i'm using my own laptop... i could type away by just looking at the screen. but when i'm using my sister's laptop, with about 16 keys all screwed up and not in place... i am having a hard time not looking at the keyboard from time to time.

i didn't have formal training on typing. i was slow at first too but i got the hang of it after a while. still i know i don't have the speed or the skill of the typist yet. hehe

wow, hands on training (literally) worked well for you. i can just imagine how pretty good it feels. nice work!

Sometimes I still look into the keyboard. I am still pressing the wrong key when typing..

thats why they said, 'practise, practise make you perfect' though not at all atleast you improve, when i was still studying my teacher personally train us to type fast, she carry small plastic stick and whip our hands in every mistakes we had, so we are train/motivated like army.....yes sir!!

Good to hear there are some improvement in your typing skill. Sometimes, i do look at my computer keyboard when typing the words, especially when i am typing those new words. As for those common use words, i don't have to refer to my keyboard because it seems like my fingers had used to type those words, as it had been used everyday. Well, like we always heard "practice often do makes prefect." Everything do takes time for us to practice and get familiar with, to be able to type perfectly fast and accurately. Congratulate to you for your great achievement....

Its good to see that you are improving. I am just trying to look at the screen while i am posting this response and surprisingly I am able to type much of the response without having looked at the keyboard. I am noticing that i only look at the keyboard when i take a pause while writing and not when i am in the flow. i would just look at the keyboard to set my fingers again after having taken a break.
