So last night was late night talk show host Conana OBriens last night on television...I myself do not watch late night shows because I am tired and in bed way before they come on but I have seen the show a few times in my lifetime and have heard som what of what has been happening between the shows by watching other shows. I think it is a shame that something couldn't be worked out between all of them that way all shows could still be on television...what do you think?

he problem may not have been with Conan but with Leno. Leno at 10 o'clock EST) did not draw viewers so he was a bad lead in to tne news and then to Conan. That meant that Conan drew fewer veiwers than Leno used to on the tonight show. Leno used to outdraw Letterman. Conan didn't. NBC needs to recover the 10 o'clock time period to make their late night work. As for Conan, he's getting well paid just to walk away and the agreement says he can go back on the air somewhere else in September. I've already hear rumors that Fox has licensed names (possible websites?) combining their name and Conan's. Leno looks realy bad now because it looks like he forced Conan out. Letterman looks good because he at one tme appeared to be the heir to the tonight show when Johnny Carson quit. TV after all is a business. Even is a sho is good, f it doesn'thve viewers, it's gone.

Letterman would have been a better successor to Johnny...

By the way, I've always preferred Letterman.

I never really watch these shows either, not because I'm not up at this time, but mainly because I just never really got INTO these types of shows. But I've heard great things about this one. My sister's boyfriend was telling me how sad he was that the show has ended. *shrugs*. I'm not even sure what happened. But it's sad whenever a long-standing show goes, and makes way for a newer (and dumber) show. lol.

The show didn't end. The network just decided they wanted the previous host back.

I don't care either way who's hosting the Tonight Show, but I never cared much for Leno.

I watched Conan. And I think he did a fine job. What a shame NBC couldn't make up their minds. I think Leno said it best.."How valuable can I be? You fired me twice!"

I won't miss Conan. However, I will miss Jay simply because I could stay awake to watch him at 10:00. I found Conan mildly amusing when he came on at 12:30, but didn't find him the least bit funny at 11:30. I didn't see him very often at either time as I was usually sound asleep by 11:30. As a matter of fact, I seldom catch the 11:00 news as I'm asleep by then too. Now I'll just go back to watching the 10:00 news if I'm still awake!!! My guess is Conan will have a show at 11:30 on Fox by September. Then he can compete with both Jay & David. Rumor has it that his ratings had fallen by 49% just from going from Late Night to The Tonight Show. I wonder if part of his popularity wasn't the fact that he had NO competition at 12:30!!!

I never watched the Tonight Show after Conan took over from Jay Leno because I had seen Conan's late show when he followed the Jay Leno show and I wasn't a fan of that. However, I also think that it is sad that the network and the two men were not able to work out a deal. I think that it was initially a bad move to put the Jay Leno Show on in the 10 o'clock time slot because it hurt the rating for the Tonight Show as it fulfilled people's desire for the late night comedy and caused many fewer people to watch The Tonight Show. I thought that the idea of pushing Conan back by 30 minutes and then having a 30 minute Jay Leno Show was the best option.

All i can say is good riddance, now if they'd get rid of leno & letterman they would be doing me a favor, i can't stand any of them & don't like their shows.

I do not care for Conan. I am glad Leno is back. I think they tried to work something out but Conan wanted too much. It is too bad but if people really want him on late night they will voice their opinions and he will be probably be brought back.

I hate that it happened the way it did too. I don't stay up to watch them very much but when I have, I really got a kick out of Conan. I think I even liked him a little better than Jay Leno. I didn't really watch them enough to make a choice though.

What NBC did to both Conan and Leno was a shame! They'd have done best to leave it as it was. I think both of them will be fine when the dust settles. Jay Leno always excelled in his old spot and will again. And my guess is, Conan will move to FOX and be just fine there.

I totally agree with you on that. I blame it all on the Stupid TV executives that don't have a brain between them, at all. They should have left the shows on as they were before. I have nothing to do with the TV business but I even knew moving Jay Leno to 10pm was a stupid idea. I wonder if the person who thought this up or if its a group of guys if they all still have their jobs. Now Conan can't be on TV till September which is another thing that is not right. I truly hope Letterman beats Leno in the ratings big time.
