Do you agree to draw up a law to forbid people eating the meat of cats and dogs?  

Dog and cat meat should not be really for eating, they are human friends and dog meat is not safe to eat, i know why bystanders love there meat. The law should been made long time ago, to avoid must killing of this pets especially dogs,You can even see them on market being sold. This madness must be stop right away. So i agree with this law.

SAVE THE ANIMALS.

Yes. Yes. Yes! I agree with the law to forbid eating cats and dogs. The economy is so bad, I'd be afraid someone would steal my 2 cats and 3 dogs, and the first thing that would cross my mind is them carving my babies. Absolutely no eating pets. No, I can't stand the thought. I watched a Twighlight Zone movie years ago, and the butler decided he didnt like the employer, so one night when the rich guy came home, he kept looking and calling for his 2 beautiful white french poodles who were well groomed and his life. Well, at dinner time when the butler rolled the cart in with all the covered silver dishes, he lifted the lid off one and it was one of the poodles cooked with its head still on like hog. He took a funnel and put it in his boss's mouth and shoved all the dog down his throat and the man was bloated like a ballon and died. That was about the most awful thing I've ever seen, and I kept thinking how the man had to feel horror at being fed his precious pet. ugh!!!

Well, here I go again. I just typed a long long response, and it got lost somewhere in wah wah land! I was saying, absolutely yes! I forbid eating of cats and dogs. That almost sounds cannibalistic. I mean God made them to love and release stress and all. We can't eat them. If my pets came up missing and they probably would because of the economy if people could eat them. All I'd think about is someone carving my babies. I know there are alot of them that people don't take care of and strays and all, but when there are homeless people, we don't decide to eat them.

Well well well...like cats or dogs..there are certain other living creatures like Chicken,Pig..etc etc...What about them ??

If you are a vegetarian...you have the right to speak against people who eat dogs or cats...If not its better to be quiet like me...

In my culture people don't eat cat and dogs. However, if I was raised in a country where this was normal, I would have no objections. The healthiest diet is vegetarian, but people just like meat. I have fish in a tank which I consider pets, but that does not stop people from eating fish.

I am vegeterian, and an animal lover, and I would never eat the meat of cats or dogs but I do not agree with this law.
I think that if people are going to make laws about meat, Factory Farming must be out-lawed. It is just not right to treat animals like "meat machines." ALL animals need to be treated like living beings, because they are.

Well, animal cruelty is already an established thing here in the US, as a serious no no, but if you find a dead dog in the woods, you're starving to death, and stranded out in the middle of nowhere, you're going to eat it - bottom line.

...but it would be nice to have something in effect in the case of a sick and twisted individual who just goes around killing and eating people's pets for sadistic purposes, and I'm sure there are people like that.

It'd be a waste of legislature to put this into effect, although, the long term standing of it could lead to all sorts of precedence use where any animal could be put under protected status, including cows, chickens, and pigs... then what?

We really, as a society, regardless of the nature of predator, and the cycle of death and life, good and evil... really can't be arsed to do such a thing like abandon our carnivorous ways completely, no matter the philosophical rewards or nirvana that awaits if we do so.

anyone to eat cats and dogs. to me they are our pets,and to
eat my pets would be like being a cannibal,you just don't eat
your family members.pets are a part of one's family. If they
do not eat other forms of meat let them become vegetarians
and go on their veggie way, and leave our pets along.ugh the
thought makes me want to vomit.

Even though I don't think people should be eating cats or dogs, I don't think there needs to be a law. If I kept pigs as pets, should there be a law to protect them as a species?

In the colder part of my country, people are eating the meat of dogs. They say that dogs meat keeps their body warm. I also seen people eating cats meat. But thats another case. Its because these people are so poor that they can't afford to buy the common foods for their meals. In a culture where these two animals are considered as pets, many would disagree about considering them as food. Laws maybe passed to forbid eating these meat, but still there will be people who violates the law.
