Your Personal Source

As I get older all the financial skills I need to learn are online and from my own individual self. I know money is not something you learn immediately as it is a life education. Some of us are lucky to have sources to guide us in the right direction, I wish I had one without spending so much whether it be marketing or millionaire's club. Do you have a personal source that helps you to financially achieve your goal and or get where you want to financially in life? If not, how did you teach yourself the skill that matters most? Were you in a pressured situation or hardship which force you to learn these skills?

just like you, i am also learning my personal financial skills lately from all sources. most of what i am learning now are from the internet. i keep on reading many articles on personal finance websites of yahoo, msn, cnnmoney, kiplinger, investopedia, etc. i am also learning from the ways of my japanese friends, but tracking down their expenses in a list. in this way, they are able to adjust their budget and check their expenses on certain categories.

Yes, finance in general is a very complex and intertwined subject. Without looking around you in politics, economics and social happenings, well you might miss something and suddenly when something like the market crashes, you don't even think that it hits you but it does and I guess, learning how to be on your two feet is encouraged more than ever.

Hmm... I just blogged about something financial related - about saving up! To be honest, I've been seeing the TV show Til Debt Do Us Part and have been learning from the financial advise that the host gives the couples she helps each week. There's a bit of pressure on my side because there are obligations that have to be met but I am still at that point where I don't have to worry so much. I want to learn to be more wise with my finances so that I don't get to where I will be all pressured to become more mature in that area. Hope I made sense.

I hate to say it, but i'm dysfunctional when it comes to working and earning money.. a good wife (housewife) and mother and gramma I am.. which is actually quite good considering things I went through in childhood (which I've forgiven) yet I have educated myself on a lot of things.. and written a couple of really good books(if only I could sell them) and have another super one to write.. sure would be nice if hubby could retire..

Besides financial I think you have something that is precious and that is a dream of which you're following. Do not give up. I have checked out your profile and saw your blog of poems and followed the link to the publisher. I think that's so great as you have a lot of wisdom in you as well. What is you got no money can buy. Thanks for sharing.

hello hatley, nice to see you in this discussion! Well, basically whichever way you go in finance as long as it is enough to cover for your needed costs, that's all that matters right?
