Thank you for your response and if I may add ALL of my recommendations here are Free Of Charge where the aim here is to let the end users here to be able to work with their computers without spending a single cent.

It is my hope that more members will be aware that there are quality apps available online for everyone of us. On the side, I just do not believe in buying products when there are equally compatible and quality free alternatives especially during this depressive economic times.

Also, before I forget. a commendable recommendation Acronis TrueImage as backup solution, and they are promising that their brand-new Acronis True Image Home 2010 is the ultimate solution. It is reported that in the case of a system crash you'll be able to restore your hard disk and particular files in minutes. All the docs, musics, photos, Outlook e-mails just all your data and configurations will be recovered. No reinstallations, only a few mouse clicks and there you are up and running again. Impressive, huh?

Honestly, as far as quality is concern COWON Jet-audio is commendable and the app undeniably plays various music and video files, CD Burning, recording, and File Conversion. It can help you create Internet Broadcasts with JetCast. JetAudio plays most major file formats and various video or audio tracks. You can even convert audio files to various formats. A special feature is Video conversion which can make video files compatible for your portable devices such as iPOD or PSP.

I am also very impressed with some thoughtful features inside like skin changeability, an alarm clock with timer and most of all the lyrics getter capability which I must say makes it even more impressive.

However, if you do not want Jet Audio to your PCs default media player then you have to be careful during installation which to me is not a good criteria for new and novice users. Then, there is another quibble where it treats a playlist as an album but uses the artist as its primary key field, making it difficult to locate mixes.

I just wish that they would take these feedbacks and improve on it.

I am glad that you have a similar list and another one of the 7 essentials users.

Basically, I do not have any issues with "MalwareBytes" except that it is not easy to discern a doctored website than their own authenticate website. I am mentioning this because a lot of phishing and trojan scams have been riding on this software to infect end users online. So, I have my reservations here.

As for zip, I feel that this is a niche issue where the end user's is being influenced by what their peers are using. I find WinRAR to be more commonly used in my country and regionally around. So, I would not impose and remain neutral here.

I am happy that you have found the list helpful.

I am sure Comodo firewall is a good software as well but I just find them a bit on resource hogging.

I just hope that their latest version will improve on this area or it will not pass my consideration as an essential.
