If i upgrade RAM in my Dell Laptop.will it void the warranty  |

|  I have a dell laptop with 2GB of RAM. and want to upgrade this by more 2GB.means total 4GB. but i am not sure if it could affect the warranty of my laptop.
but my dealer told me it will not.Please share your views.

| |  Definitely it will void the warranty if you use more RAM than the specified. And if you upgrade consulting with the dealer and he assured you than you can. As your warranty is provided to you by your dealer so if he recommends you the you can.

| |  Usually in doing so, dealers will assists you with that upgrade so as they would be able to support you, as well as they are informed of the upgrade you made on your laptop.

| |  well, if you upgrade it by your own or in some other PC service, it will definitely void the warranty, because as we all know, only the authorized service can open the laptop/PC in case of some problems or for some upgrades. so better go and ask them to change yo RAM with some more~

| |  If the one who will open and change or put the parts of your laptop is credited by dell then it won't void the warranty because they will reseal it with the sticker provide by them by Dell to repair and upgrade of Dell's product. So you need to make sure that they are credited by your product vendor.

What voids the warranty on a computer is whenever you open the case yourself. So, to avoid having that problem, if you take it to the tech support at the store, they are able to do it and to properly document the work so that the warranty isn't voided.
