Hello Mylooters!
I would like to discuss about eating and desserts. I've read that normally would have to eat four times. Four eating things would be breakfast, lunch, and it is one eating about 15.00-16.00 PM. I do not know that it is called in your country, but in my country it is launags, I do not know that it will be English. And the last eating would be dinner. These four eating times is important. I would like to talk about the desserts too. I eat desserts every day after dinner. Everyday I cook different desserts, but I eat only once a day after dinner. And some questions: How many times a day you eat? Do you eat the desserts, if you eat please say how often do you eat them. And please say when you eat desserts. Example: after breakfasts, or lunch.

I know the meal in between Breakfast and Lunch is called Brunch. But I don't think they have come up with a name for the meal between Lunch and Dinner. Would it be called Linner or Lupper? LoL. I don't usually have a Dessert after my dinner. But sometimes I do like to have a fruit after Dinner.

I don't know what it would be correctly, because I do not eat a brunch. I eat breakfast and lunch in different times. Who does not love fruits after dinner? In my family we do not buy fruits often, but if I need chose between a dessert and fruits, I chose fruit, because the fruits is much healthier than desserts.

Each country has their own set of eating time just like how the food differs from country to country. And how many meals we eat differs individually. Some can not afford a complete meal, others have too much.
From my home country, people eat 3 meals a day : breakfast, lunch, dinner. Snacks or in between light meals or desserts( we call it merienda) are between b'fast & lunch, then another one between lunch & dinner. This is true to those who can afford 5 eatings a day. While for those who are financially hard up, usually eat Brakfast & Lunch together ( we call it Brunch ), then the next meal is dinner. No desserts or light meal in between.
At present, i prepare for my husband and daughter Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Desserts we eat as often as we like and that is anytime of the day. Ice cream, choclate bars, fruits, salad, yoghurt - for anytime dessert. Our brakfast and dinner usually consist of bread, sausages, cheese, and favorite bread spread.
And lastly before going to bed ( while on comp or while watching late tv program), my husband & i eat cereal.

Yes eating habits in each country is different. Yes we can eat 5 or 6 meals a day, but I mean it would be healthier, if we eat three times a day as a minimum. Yes on my country we have four meal times. Oh I can not imagine that, I could eat for breakfast a brunch, for me it would be a heavy meal, because I'm accustomed to eat continental breakfast. Then I watch TV on midnight, I eat bread with jam, and milk.

et2blv hi well here I am in GardenGrove Ca in the US and we usually
eat only three times a day and have a snack here in Gold Crest in the mid evening. We have breakfast at six am , lunch at 11 am and dinner at 4 p.m and snacks at 6"30 pm. We have desserts of fruit or cake after lunch and after dinner in the evening. We do not eat any dessert after breakfast, never do here in the U SA. I do so love to met all my friends here from around the world, and see what differences we all have, and how much we all have in common too. I sometimes like desserts but i have diabetes so have to be careful not to overdo the desserts too much.

I usually eat 3 times a day unless i eat a late breakfast & then i don't eat till dinner . your launags might be what we call a snack, i'm not sure. I love desserts to but don't need them every day so i try not to eat them that often. I am overweight so that doesn't help that problem any, lol. When i do eat desserts it's usually after dinner.

Oh, I eat dessert every day, too!
I am such a big lover of sweets, I just can't help but do it every day, lol.
Most days I just end up having cheap, pre-packaged cookies, though. I do love to bake so every once in a while I'll make a cake, pie or batch of cookies from scratch. ^o^

When I was a kid, we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner. We wouldn't have dessert until after dinner. Some people claim eating 5 smaller meals is better, but we never did. As an older person, I don't eat breakfast, I might eat lunch and I might eat dinner, but I generally don't eat desserts at all. If do have dessert, it's whenever I get a real craving for it, and it may not be associated with any meal.

In some countries is only 3 eating times. In school lunch, I get dessert every day after mandatory meals. In home, I eat desserts only after dinner, but it is not everyday. It is when, I make my own desserts for family. We don't buy it anymore, we buy only the components.

I eat three times a day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. In the evening I will take either little bit of snacks or a fruit. I will not eat desert everyday as I am a diabetic and sugar control is there for me.

Let's see...
Breakfast Lunch Dinner Supper...
Of course to me Dinner and Supper are the same thing and are just one meal, and I use dinner and supper interchangeably.
Hmm, well We eat three meals generally though we may snack all day, and deserts are whenever we please, though I know it's not like that for everyone.

Hi ET28LV,
here in the philippines we used to eat five times a day: breakfast, morning snacks, lunch, afternoon snakcs and dinner. if you are strict with your diet then you can skip morning and afternoon snacks and just maintained the three main meals. for some they have heavy afternoon snacks and skip dinner.
desserts are usually fruits or something sweets like cake or ice cream.

that was intended to elicit response. regarding meals, we have three regular meals in the philippines -- breakfast, lunch and dinner (or supper, as we call it here). desserts are a luxury in many meal tables here in the philippines. for those who can afford desserts, the more common are cakes and their kind. but for the health conscious, desserts are fruits of the season, eaten fresh and without any preparation -- you just peel it or wash it.

As my fellow Filipinos have mentioned, we eat more than three times and that our snack time is called merienda. Even though that's the case, my family is quite different. Because we wake up late, we don't eat breakfast but eat "brunch"...which is breakfast + lunch at noon. However, it does not mean that the breakfast meal is added to the lunch meal. If we have desserts, we would take them after brunch. It's usually sweets like candy or chocolate. In the afternoon, we optionally eat some snacks. By supper/dinner, we optionally eat dessert too. If we get hungry later on, we eat some snacks at around 9 or 10 pm. But if there is work on that day, we always eat breakfast to get ready for the day.
There was one time though that I got to experience eating five times a day. Our class went to a retreat and we had breakfast, morning snacks, lunch, afternoon snacks, then dinner. I was surprised at how many we ate during that retreat. Although we eat snacks at home, it seemed like we had meals even on snack times during the retreat. I remember that our desserts were chocolate, Kitkat in particular.

I will typically eat anywhere between 3 and 5 times per day. I will eat breakfast upon rising, lunch, dinner, afternoon snack and sometimes a bedtime snack. As far as dessert goes, we only eat a dessert maybe once a week. We certainly don't eat dessert on a daily basis. A big part of the reason for this is that I don't like to have a lot of junk food in our house, but I also don't think that it is a good idea to never let ourselves have some junk food every now and then.

Before the economy had hit us badly, I would have eaten three meals a day plus dessert. Now I have one meal a day plus dessert. Money has been so tight lately that all I can afford is one meal a day and I cook desert once a week and it lasts all week. I hate the fact that the economy is in such bad shape and that everytime we get money it goes towards bills. I only have the bare necessities when it comes to bills telephone, Internet, power bill and a mortgage. We have a very old car that is not doing well and we pray that the car will last a while.

Economy has hit many countries and many people. I too before financial problems could afford many things which I can not afford now. We have three meal times a day sometimes we eat some desserts or fruits after dinner. I cook desserts with my hands, because they are to expensive in shops. You have a big problems, but you have a house and you are always eaten. Some people do not have anything and it is sad. I believe that one day economy will be well like old days.
