In November of 2009, Sarah Palin — who is always suggesting that health care reform will lead to socialism — insisted that Canada needs to reform its health care system to “let the private sector take over.” But this past Saturday in Calgary, Canada — at “her first Canadian appearance since stepping down as governor of Alaska last summer” — Palin seemed to deviate from her fear of socialized Canadian medicine when she revealed that her family may have benefited from the Canadian system: PALIN: We used to hustle over the border for health care we received in Canada. And I think now, isn’t that ironic! This isn’t the first time Palin highlighted the difficulty of obtaining affordable health care in America. During the presidential campaign, Palin discussed how she and her husband Todd had “gone though periods of our life here, paying out-of-pocket for health coverage. I'd suggest, that the Canadian System is really not that bad! Any Comments?

hi barehugs I really think your health care plans much better than our bloated way out of the zone expensive health insurance plans in our U S we need the same thing that you have going , and need it so badly. I do not care about the nay sayers, it is not socialized anything, its doing right by thousands of working people who cannot now afford adequate health care,we are a wealthy nation yet we have more people not on insurance than on it, and we should all be ashamed that this is so in our well to do country. So yes I think Canada has the right idea and its time we in the US should follow suit.

We have had our system since 1984, and there have been many Federal Elections since then, and never once has anyone called our system into doubt. Its very obvious how much the Canadian Public value our Health Care. We Canadians feel so sad for the millions of Americans who have been left out all these years!

I'm disgusted with her. Touting the US as having better healthcare, saying that we in Canada should convert to poverty stricken people being denied proper healthcare and using a pay-per-use system that even middle class cannot afford, then admitting to having used our health care here? WTF? How can she even do that? Is she not a US citizen? Is she a Canadian citizen? You are only allowed access to our Canadian system with residency and/or citizenship, so what gives?

When someone other than a Canadian Citizen needs medical care at A Canadian Hospital or Emergency Health Clinic they have to pay the going rate. But the charge would be less than half of what it costs in the existing American system.

One thing I know for sure no matter what system we end up with some people are not going to be happy. You just can't please everyone.
