Hoping for a good year!  

I envy your space for a strawberry patch. Mine are in pots & since I'm in the far south, I already have 5 or 6 berries on the plants. About 40 miles south of me they have been picking the fields for a month or so..

I dearly love strawberries & can never have too many. Slice 'em. Freeze 'em. Year round delight.

wow a strawberry patch, how I wish to grow one as well. Strawberries grow here in cold place only. So that's the no.1 product of Baguio city, our summer capital. We could buy fresh or preserve jams and jellies. Haven't tried making jam or jelly but will try once I got fresh ones, exciting I guess...

I have a strawberry patch, but they are wild and with my son, I am fortunate to get enough to put on my cereal..lol

i got 9 strawberry plants free with 3 strawberry pots from a seed catalogue about 4 years ago. every year they increase by little offsets, but i keep them in pots, the long narrow ones as the neighbourhood slugs love visiting my garden. i am absolutely sure, there is a big neon lit arrow over my garden saying 'slug and snail heaven, come and get it!!' I check as often as i can for slugs and snails, but the little perishers pop up all over the place.
As far as I can remember with strawberry jam, lots of sugar and hot boiling water and strawberries of course, but as soon as we get our strawberries , theyre picked and scoffed. This year we have changed our holiday to a little bit earlier as last year, we were away for a fortnight and i missed the best of the strawberries and raspberries, so according to the timing this year, we should have plenty of fruit to pick. This year i will find a good recipe for fruit jam and pass it on.

You are Sooooooooooooo lucky GB! If I weren't renting this place I know I would have a nice garden out back and be growing stuff too! When we get our strawberries, we usually get them at the grocery store or a farmers market if we happen to catch it in time! I wish you and your crops the best year yet! Luv, Teddy XxXx

I could eat a big ol' homegrown strawberry. I make freexer jam & i go buy the recipe in the sre-jell box. I think it's very good & my kids like it.

I bet you can't wait really to start on those jam, I don't make jam as I can't grow strawberry in my small garden, so I just buy couple of punets in the farm shop and have tem with cream, lovely!

Nice patch! We have a strawberry patch too. We freeze the strawberries or turn them over to my friend who makes some out of this world jam! Happy gardening!

I have wide space for planting here in the backyard but haven't got time to plant.

I'm always busy with paperworks at school and have my part-time job being a technician at my friends cellphone/mobile repair shop. Hope to get into planting when i have spare time. Nice patch grampa!

no,i have raspberries.not sure if we're planting them this year,but we are going to try blueberries again.last year the bush got some kind of fungus and died.
