its a simple demand and supply issue my friend, people these days do not have the time and patience to even read the prescription properly, they would just give the list to the chemist and mostly who ends up giving you the medicine or a replacement without even bothering to inform you the change. There are many stores that offer such home products but like you rightly said it very rare and difficult to find one close to your place.

U are quite right i think . I'm sure these are not high dollor items. If the drug store does carry them that i go to they are way over priced. I buy such as that at the dollor store or wal-marts.

You can't find Hydrogen Peroxide? Ugh! You can mix with alittle of the mouthwash for a better flavor too. I just go down to the drug store. Supply and demand and vice versa.

I'm sure you are right hvedra, it's about the profit. I buy peroxide at the dollar store, epsom salts too, last time I asked the druggist for epsom salts, he said it had been more than a year since someone wanted them and I should try some over priced replacement, I declined and headed off to the dollar store.

I am sure it's normal, but the thought of going and buying hydrogen peroxide to put in my mouth is just strange, probably because I used to use the concentrated stuff at work, one wiff and that stuff will burn the hairs out of your nose!

I use food grade hydrogen peroxide for cleaning fruit and vegetables and sometimes will use it on cuts and grazes and I find that it works very well. I cannot get it in my local chemist though, so I searched for food-grade hydrogen peroxide on line and quickly found several suppliers here in the UK. I ordered a bottle, but had to mix it down to 3 per cent. It was OK then. _Derek

This is so annoying isnt it. I have had medical problems and am very big in home remidies and when I tell the doctor what I did that helped or "cured" it them seem very irritated. Why would you want to use something that affects your liver and kidneys in ways you dont even know when there are healthy safe options you can try.

According to my knowledge most of the Pharmacy would have all this Epsom salt, Castor oil, Hydrogen Peroxide, etc., and which is sold by the counter without need of doctors prescription. As you have mentioned that Corsodyl Mouth wash is so strong, and can not possible to use that, but at the same time I am strongly advising you to use the Corsodyl Mouthwash, because it is one of the best mouthwash and would has excellent chemical ingredients and to kills all the germs and would feel the great freshness after every uses. Still you have feel that more strong then you can mixed with small portion of water and then used for the gargling purpose. I am also one of the great lover of Corsodyl mouthwash and would have enjoyed the real life and would have enjoy the great benefits of the dental care too. There is no need of hydrogen peroxide for the gargling purpose, and would try your best to use the Corsodyl and would have lots more benefits.

Here in Australia, it's fairly easy to find those products at the chemist as well as other home remedy products - some can even be found in the super market & are still popular here. I was amazed to read that you find it hard to get those things over in the UK.
Because they are easy to get here, I have even made a squidoo page on home remedies.
