How do you see Obama as US president?  

That's too bad. He was really promising before. What has happened to the "First Black President" of US. I was actually hoping that he would be like the answer to the crisis the Americans are facing now. But it seems like the other way around.

He promised hope and change, but I didn't believe him before the election and didn't vote for him. I didn't trust where he came from (Chicago politics), and he hasn't proved me wrong. He operates in the White House just like they operate in Chicago (notoriously). He's too progressive and operates outside the mainstream to the left. He said he was a moderate, but he's a screamin' liberal. His main goal is to redistribute the wealth...not abide by our constitution.

I'll read his policies to be able to understand it better. To be honest I was actaully hoping that he'll be different. And I hope he can still prove that. If he can't I don't know what will happen next.

Not a bad idea of giving him a chance. I'm just wishing that he would be able to prove now to the people that they were right for voting him. But it's not gonna be easy. It's like inheriting a bankrupt company and to make it profitable again coming from zero.

You have a point there. I think the damage which has been done by the Bush administration was tremendous. And nobody could fix it in an instant, not even the brightest president you've ever had. You're deficits is awfully big at this time. It's just such a pity that US, who is being looked up by the rest of the world and considered to be the hope of the people from third world countries, is having this kind of problem. I feel real bad with what has been happening there because we also have friends and family who have lost their jobs amidst the crisis.

here. the only reason why I am in this retirement center is because my son and I were living together in an apartment when he was laid off. we
ran out of money and got behind in the rent. thus we were evicted and that made us homeless.myson is in a gov.sponsored apartment so he had a place to live while searching for work, He has been out of work now over a year, its just horrid because he has years of experience as a computer programmer but nobody is offering to hire him. and the places where he would ordinarily easily find a job are instead laying off employees.so I do know just what you mean. Happy mylotting to you.

That's too bad and I'm really sorry about the situation not just yours but to all who are in the same boat. My friend who went home last Feb., she's a nurse in Jersey, had a lot of stories to tell. She knows a particular doctor who is 80yrs old, and is currently working as a bagger in a supermarket because he lost his retirement money in the crisis. I'm sure a lot were into that. There were some Filipinos who just left US at the moment coz they can't find anything. Well just keep hanging Hatley, I'm sure your son will going to find job soon.

You're welcome to share. He is facing a tough job indeed. Truly a great challenge, I'm still hoping he could make some impact. I don't want to be disappointed.

Hi Cream thanks for sharing your thoughts. Can you please do me a favor? Can you please explain a little what has been happening on your health care policies. There are even jokes going around about it. Sometimes when I would read it in the news it just confuses me more. Or maybe I'm a little lazy to understand the news and i prefer it in layman's terminologies you know. I hope you wouldn't mind. Please....
And I think it is very important for a leader to show love and respect to his family. And you simply can't trust a person if he is acting otherwise.

Hi dorannmwin. That makes you the second person to show dislike against Obama. That makes me sad, really. Well for the reason that I used to like him before. And probably the reason why I started this discussion is that I am having second thoughts against him now. I just hope that he can still make the turn around.
