If you have a hospital or doctors appointment, do you prefer to go alone..  

Which would you choose if it was something serious? Alone or accompanied?

Depends who it is I suppose. My husband wanted to come with me yesterday. We sat downin the waiting area, he put the earplugs of his MP3 player in and didnt speak a word until he said "How was it?" as we leftHe wanted us to go home by a different route which I am not familiar with so I let him drive - turned out he wasn't that familiar with it either

Yeah, but it is always good to get out and explore when you have the time..so did you have fun..?

Not really, it was just a case of getting from A to B and getting caught at the lights in G!

I can sympathise... I've had 3 hospital appointments this week too - and mine's 30-45 mins each way depending on the traffic. (I also have high cholesterol but just see my GP for that) Hows the tapioca??

I just watched the video... what can I say, one minute and ten seconds.... haven't had tapioca in a while. I like it, even if it does look like frog spawn.

An ad for a "Used 4x4"??... maybe it was because I mentioned the word "hatch"? Do you often get ads along with comments???? The closest I've even been to a used 4x4 was when one ran into the back of my car (which happened to be a hatchback) when I was stopped at a pedestrian crossing about 9years ago. The driver got out and asked me why I stopped "There was a pedestrian.... he was crossing.... I thought I should let him rather than run him down!!"

I hope he had insurance. And that you didn't get whiplash. What a dipsh*t!

Yes, he had.... unlike the taxi driver who drove into the back of me a couple of years ago... and shunted me into a line of parked car. I did have some whiplash both times (worse the first time since I was stationary)

Glad your biopsy results were ok I'd had a few appointments a couple of years ago that i hadnt mentioned to anyone and, on the morning of the biopsy, it occurred to me that, if I were to faint or anything, they might ring my husband and he would freak out to know why I was there so I told him and he went with me. I had to have another one on New Years Eve - he knew about that one but I went alone.

The first one's always the scariest.

I took him along more for his benefit than mine. The first one was the easiest, the second was more uncomfortable for longer but there was less bruising.

I know what you mean. You always feel that you have to apologise if there's a delay and maybe you dont ask all the questions if you're conscious of someone waiting for you. Its good that you've found a doctor with whom you can feel comfortable.

We were walking past the Healthfood shop the other day and there was a big sign saying "Prostate problem??" I said " No, I think I'm alright there thanks"...to which my husband replied "I never think of ladies as having prostates".
(I know we have a sort of equivalent but....)

Then you see the hospital from both sides and understand that some people need company at difficult times.

My husbands hearing and memory are not good - he would probably not know my symptoms because I dont tell him. I am more likely to forget or not be able to concentrate on the doctor if he is there. I take a list of questions and make notes on it if its a big thing.

I take him with me if I think I may not be able to drive home... if I've had any sort of anaesthetic etc. I dont find it comforting to have someone with me because I'm more concerned about how they will react to the situation so it just adds any stress.
