Crafts: Have you ever made crafts that made you money?  

I currently make beaded jewelry and have for many years. I would love to concentrate on doing this all the time instead of my part time job but I need to work outside of the home for the pay and the benefits. I sell my jewelry online, home parties, craft shows, etc. Only wish I had more time to devote to it.

I paint and I make photomanipulations, I also like to knit and to make my own cards. I have sold some of my paintings, some of my photomanipulations and some of my cards. I haven't tried to sell the things that I knit, I only make things for myself and my family.

I had an art exhibition last year and I am thimking about making another one, because that could be a way to sell more paintings. I am able to rent a room in the art museum if I want, but it is pretty expensive so I am still thinking about it. In the future I would to make more cards, and maybe papercuts and some decoupage, it would be nice if I could sell those things as well.

Over the years I've made lots of money with my crafts. I live in a small town, and there was lots of opportunity to make extra. I did a lot of crafts work for local stores. I made twig furniture that was sold locally (helped to have a large woods to get free supplies from lol) I made rope macremae (sp?) hangers for another store, and did lots of stencilling. For the stencilling the person, or store, would give me their business card and I'd re-produce the image on a series of stencils (one stencil to be overlaid over another) to get intricate designs and colorings. Back then I didn't have a way to enlarge images, so I'd do them by hand (sometimes as big as a door lol) Often then I'd have to teach the store owner how to use the stencils, or do it myself (for extra:-) I've sold afghans, and made personalized glass etchings. The one thing I made the most money on was the Victorian reproduction twig furniture. I love all kinds of crafting, whether it's sewing, crocheting, building things, or painting.

I love crafts. I make fashion jewelries using swarovski crystals and 10k gold wire, I also make accessories made of different beads and stones and I sell those, I also do crochets and cross stitch, I've tried weaving tiny baskets using recycled paper and many more. I also have customers that order accessories and dresses for their tyler dolls. I guess we both have the same skills and passion for crafts, there are times that I don't really like doing any of those but when I do I always end up sleeping 3 or 4 in the morning. Happy day!

I never tried selling my craft, but I do love creating them. Whenever I make something, someone will always ask for it. That makes me happy. I know if what I made is ugly because no one want it...

In today's financial situation more and more people are looking to crafts to make money, even selling their wares directly in the street. From what I have seen, there is still a good market available for things like jewelery, but it must be unique! Mass produced material just wont sell. Each item is for one particular customer who appreciates that no one else has such an item. Thus, the major problem is coming up with new ideas and designs.

I love crafting! I knit, make jewelry, paper crafts (cards & collage), and all sorts of others. Right now, I sell my jewelry (and sometimes other items) online on Etsy. I go to college part time, and so I use Etsy has a part-time "job". I hope to be able to craft and sell my wares as a full time job some day soon.

Im self employed. I sell my paintings and sculptures, as well as decorative painting. I have a degree and am going to school for fine art.

i have try made one, it was photo frame made by old magazine. I cut the nice picture inside the magazine. I was proud that time of my work, but no body wanted to buy it.:(

I love making crafts and the problem with me is that I have too many projects on the go. I eventually return to prior projects and finish them off. I think I start one then find another that interests me. I crochet blankets that are nice colors and give them as gifts.
The nearby store has some of my necklaces made from beads in the daisy pattern and they are on the shelves there but they are not selling. I'm hoping this summer they will do well.
