NoyNoy on Time Magazine... is it too early to say? |
| |
| Its really catchy! the latest edition of TIME MAGAZINE, with Noynoy as the front cover and with words: Can Noynoy Save The Philippines? This has several meanings for me, like a declaration that he is going to win the elections this may, or a challenge that can he manage to win the elections... but for most i believe this is already a statement of him as the definite winner of this game! What do you say about this? Can he really make it to the Malacanang Palace? Do you think he will be winning the presidential race and SAVE the Philippines?!!!! | | | | | |

| | I don't think so. He must prove himself first. He hasn't done anything great when he was on the senate, but I will give him a chance. I still have positive hopes for our land. | | | | | | |

| | i thought so too, i think he is undecisive, a person who might just go by the flow... but i think if he has a conviction of wanting to elevate the filipino's statuses in the world - not only in the country but yes, all over the world i think we ought to give this man a chance... besides... we are better off with a sincere man...? | | | |

| | Can Noynoy make it to Malacanang Palace? Most probably. He's been consistently on top of the major surveys. These surveys aren't there for nothing. They're scientific, and accurate to some degree. Can he save the Philippines? I certainly hope so. It's just a few days before the election but I'm still undecided. I just hope that whoever is elected to take the highest seat in the land, can do good for the country. | | | | | | |

| | thank you for your response... we are all hopeful that the 2010 elections pave the way for a changed Philippines for us... being the 2nd richest in the 1950s... we are down to being one of the poorest country in Asia now.. just about a few decades... this is not how we should envision our lives and reputations as a Filipino! | | | |

| | Noynoy Aquino haven't done anything substantial to prove his competence. All he's got is his family name, being the son of heros Ninoy Aquino and Cory Aquino. A consolation would be as the elder brother of prominent showbiz personality Kris Aquino. Can Noynoy save the Philippines? I strongly doubt it. He doesn't have the record to show that he is capable of leading the country. Unfortunately, I believe that Noynoy could make it to the Malacañang Palace. Noynoy's got a lot of relatives either working or heads the survey conducting groups which would explain why Noynoy is leading the surveys. His record says the other thing around and it would be a disaster if Noynoy would win. It's not good for the Philippines. | | | | | | |

| | Thank you for your response, I certainly respect your views on this matter - he can indeed be considered as a non professional when it comes to the political games.. but we still can be hopeful of the best... of what he might be able to do now that he CAN be given the chance to lead our country. **Fingers Crossed** | | | |

| | Many brilliant and experienced presidents have already served and yet the Philippines is still struggling, how much more for somebody who haven't proven anything? We can't just put somebody into power and hope that he'll turn out to be the best, it's plain uncalculated risk. Anyway, thanks for sharing. | | | |

| | Well if we will be basing from surveys it seems he is leading the race but I think we have to wait till May 10. As for me, he could if we Filipinos would help each other help him make our country a better palce to live in. But, in the way we tend to become too partisan and after election we could not easily break off with it and accept who the winner is. Instead of helping the president we start to pull him down to make our point or follow our own agendas. I hope that this coming election whoever will win and be proclaimed as the winner we try to respect that and help one another to make Philippines a better one. | | | | | | |

| | yes, yes.. that's right. the game's not over until it's over... it is a bit too early perhaps with a few more weeks before the elections day.. and the results... so much more to consider than the votes... (im sure you know what i mean) hehe thanks for your response. | | | |

| | I am not surprise that TIME magazine, one of the most prestigious magazines in the world based in the United States, featured Noynoy. This magazine adored Ninoy and Cory so it won't be surprising they are fascinated with Noynoy. It was Time Magazine who named Cory as woman of the year in 19866 then they also named Ninoy as one of the children and heirs of Mahatma Gandhi for non-violence. The magazine already hinted that Noynoy would definitely win, so they take an advance feature about him. I am also confident he would win this election. Most political experts and analysts said that if Noynoy will still top the last survey of SWS and Pulse Asia towards the last week of April, it will be a homecoming for him. Though surveys are not the sole basis of the final result, political analysts noted that for the past elections, whoever emerged the number one in the survey always the winner. | | | | | | |

| | Well, i think still surveys are a bit messed up sometimes and the population might not be enough to bring about the actual results on the elections - but of course there is a big probability as you were saying. I thought so too that since TIME magazine has "hinted" he could be the next President of the Country... | | | |

| | Yes, i think we should also give him a credit of his own... It is yes something to be proud of as a Filipino... But him on the cover, just proves more that the world is watching the Filipino's choice this coming may 2010... they are all that this could be a make it or break it situation for the country... | | | |

| | That remains to be seen. I just hope the he lives up to the expectations. I think people is placing too much weight on Noynoy's shoulder. I just hoe that he won't turn into a "yes" man if he wins. | | | | | | |

| | Being the son of cory and Ninoy only add to the burden. I don't question Noynoy's sincerity to serve but rather on his capability to lead. I think Noynoy's biggest challenge would be to get rid of corruption and the crab mentality of the people he'll surround himself with. | | | |

| | He doesn't make it. He can not save the Philippines. He was a senator for a long time but he had no fulfillment or achievement. He done nothing in the senate. Even the tenant workers in their farm Dona Luisita they opposed the Agrarian reform which will give the chance of the workers to own a land and up to this moment it is a question mark. | | | | | | |

| | Before, I think Noynoy is nothing if Cory Aquino is still alive... Now, suddenly Noynoy is something... Why? Because his mother died... Because of his families popularity and his well known sister that he got the attention of the public... It is still too early for him to lead our country... Anyway, we can't know for sure until he is already our president... | | | | | | |

| | Yes, you can probably say that it is too early to tell if he would win this coming May 2010 elections. About the question if he would win, let us just wait for that because the Filipino people will vote for their own Presidential bet. About the question would he save the Philippines? too early to tell also because he did not do anything yet. We can only tell that if first he will be elected as President, and second let us see the work he will do just in case he is the one. But for me, I will not vote for him. I respect other peoples Presidential bet here so I hope they respect mine too. Whoever wins, we do hope that corruption in the country would end and there will be a better life, a hope and a future in our beloved country. We can still save our country by voting wisely, with conviction at heart that the people they would vote for will never have any personal or vested interest to get himself/herself rich and let the nation perish. | | | | | | |

| | Let's not really expect too much from the Presidents. Regardless what country you would look into, there will be corruption. It's not something that you could just wipe off. Even the best of leaders will have something hidden in their sleeves. What we should look for it the ability of the person to really lead. A leader doesn't need the bloodline to do it. He acts even if he's not named President. Leaders are made, not bred. | | | |
