Lost or stolen?

It didn't actually happened to me but to my sister. we went to the mall and when the time she wants to purchase something & will pay for it,her wallet is gone,with all her credit cards,IDs,her social security ID,money in there.She reported it missing and got all her card cancelled immediately.A week later she received a call from the mall that her social security card was found stash in the garden area of the mall.She got her cards back...the thing to be thankful is no harm has been done to her...

Nope not yet.
But I had some "wonderful" experiences with robberies and the Romanian "authorities". Having 3 robberies in less that a month really is a record. And how the cops responded? Well... I would prefer not to comment on the stupidity of the Romanian Police...
Just today I saw a case in which A cop shot a little boy because he was listening music too loud.And he got a small part of the sentence because "the boy provoked him".
Now you see why I want to move abroad..

Luckily, I have not.
And I hope never to, either.

No but we did come very close to having to cancel them more than once. Thankfully because I´m very careful I found him his Cards the lot and the panic was over. We did have to change the Door Keys to the House twice but that was it. Also we had someone who thought himself very funny try to take Money out of an account but the Bank Manager phoned me and asked if I knew him and I said absolutely not and the money stayed in the Bank. Really sorry for your Mom. My Mom got robbed once and she was in tears this was in France fortunately she did´nt take very much cash with her and then there were no Credit Cards like now.
Hope she recovers something and she has taken it very well too. Someone once stole my Shopping well tried to and I was very upset as I had no more cash to buy anything else. So the clever clogs who took my Shopping left it back downstairs again when I went to ask about it.

Yes, I believe only once did I have to cancel a card, but it was my silly fault, I lost it.

It hasn't happened to me personally, but my mom has had a pretty bad hassle of this same sort of thing. She was mugged one day when she was walking to her car after a dentist appointment. This man grabbed her entire purse and ran and got into a getaway car. She never got her purse or any of the possessions in it back. She had to go through the entire process of freezing and canceling all the necessary accounts/cards.

My mom lost her cards once, she immediately called to cancel them, and she lost no cash and was able to get a replacement the following week.

I am glad that your mom wasn't physically hurt by these thieves who seem to prey on old women. Not that I am expecting a little compassion from these low-lifes. But I find it really disturbing that they really prey on old women who cannot defend themselves. I remember three years ago when my mom was mugged in broad daylight. She visited a friend in the neighborhood where we used to live. Now having lived there for more than fifteen years, she felt it was a safe neighborhood. When she was about to go home and was waiting for a cab, a couple approached her and asked for directions. The old lady of course wanted to help, so gave the directions. The couple turned out to be thieves and literally kidnapped my mother because they took her to a van and drove around the area, trying to wheedle information from her. My guess is that they are trying to gauge if she is from a rich Chinese family (we are Chinese by the way) and if they can get her and ask for ransom.

In the end, they released her. But not after getting her diamond ring and all the money in her ATM card. She had a good amount of money in there because my brother had just sent her money for her monthly allowance. My mother had the wits about her to text me and go to the nearest police station, but the thieves were never caught. But as to your question, no. I have never had the hassle of cancelling all my cards because I don't bring all of my cards in one wallet and bring all of them when I go out.

I have not had that problem yet. But it could easily happen, I am sure. My wallet is usually way down in the bottom of my purse, though, so it would not be easy to take it out without me knowing about it.

Can it be that she might have misplaced them somewhere else? My beloved better half has been blaming me for the past months when she misplaced her online internet banking key, She had to file for a replacement. She was convinced that I took her key and misplaced it somewhere. A few weeks ago we were cleaning my car when I found her misplaced internet online banking key. It might have fallen from her own handbag.
