MY BOSS WON'T GIVE ME MY PAYMENT. Is anyone here a lawyer? HELP.  

I don't really know about getting my own lawyer because it seems that I might have to shell out a lot of cash for it. What do you mean that you don't believe me, though? :/ Thanks for the response, 3honor.

First see if you can get no win no fee agreement many lawers do that even if they don't advertise it. Second you don't know enough about the law neither do I or anyone on mylot your OWN lawyer will ask you questions and apply the local law in your favour. That's why I don't believe you - you will tell me there's no case in law - I don't believe that.

Do you know where I can get any lawyers who specialize mostly in online employment and such? I don't really know if it will work because he and I never signed a contract. I'm just a freelancer, so I don't know if the law will actually be on my side. :/ But thank you for those tips, 3honor. I just really need support right now from myLotters, so thank you!

I was also fuming when I read his e-mail! I was seriously shocked, because I never thought he'd be THAT unprofessional. :|

And yes, the training videos and all those software were PART of the job. The training videos were basically the instructions (that weren't so clear, by the way). The software used were for the tasks that he made me do for his 'business'. I was like "WHAT THE @#$Q$!"

It's okay, auntiescard if you don't know about those legal stuff. I just need people who, I know, understand me and are on my side. :| And thank you so much for that! I just really don't know what to do. I'm actually thinking to let him not pay me anymore, but because of the way he treated me, I do NOT want to let him get away with this. And he calls himself a professional! And I'm the one who's juvenile! He accepted those articles without any complaints, and just because I argued with him and fought for my right, he's doing this!?

I just re-read that email, try not to reply for a while untill you have calmly planned what you wanted to say, he seems like the type of person that loves to push peoples buttons to get a reaction. I dont know what to advise you, do these articles happen to be copyrighted by you, that would be good, as you could get them removed, but Im guessing as he was meant to pay you for them then they are probably not.

Well, he created the videos himself, but NOT just for me. He created it for his "team" (which, I think, no longer exists because he's so hard to deal with), and he just made me watch them so I could know exactly what to do. AND guess what? I followed them exactly everytime and there were times when he would CORRECT me, when I did exactly as what he said on the training videos.

Then he asked me if I knew a writer because one of his other writers seem to be flaking on him. So I guess that's what got him pissed off, because he doesn't have a worker anymore. Lol. But seriously I'm 99% sure that he doesn't have a team of workers anymore. Haha. Oh well, karmaaa.

But since he already saw the comments on his blog, I figure that he already went online. THE NERVE OF HIM!! He won't even just delete the articles he did not pay for!

1. Yes, I was working for him as a freelancer. He told me that the rate was $0.01 per word. So $5 per article. I saw the job posted on craigslist.

2. "DupeFree Pro" and the other is like a bunch of applications, like ASubmitter, ArNotepad, some stuff like that.

3. Yes, all his e-mails are still here. As for the conversations in Skype, I was so stupid that I deleted him from my contacts, so I don't know if I'd still be able to access our conversations there.

4. He asked me to post the 6 articles on his blog. The 2 are currently published now, while the rest are still scheduled to publish in a few days. He asked me to schedule the blog posts 3 days apart. (Yes, I was also tasked to post my own articles to his blog)

1) No, I'm afraid we never discussed that.

2) "DupeFree Pro" and "AutomaticArticleSubmitter". The second one is somehow like a zip file (but it's a program) which contains several tools like the "ARNotepad" and "ASubmitter". That's about it.

He's lying about the value of the programs. DupeFree Pro is free, and AutomaticArticleSubmitter is only $97.

Doesn't matter, though. The compensation you agreed upon was money, not software. Unless you explicitly agreed to accept it in lieu of payment, he owes you money. I think it would cost more in legal fees than it would be worth to pursue it, though.

Too bad you can't just remove the articles from his site yourself since he won't pay you for them.

I'm not surprised about it, he lied about and denied a lot of stuff. He's so pathetic that he's even lying about the price of the programs. Thanks for the info, akuseru!

And yes, he voluntarily gave me the software as it would help me in making my job more efficient. And my job was to build his image and his business. So the software he provided was basically to help his own business.

And yes, that's also what I think about pursuing legal actions against him.

He told me that he was going to remove the articles, but I don't really think that it's still fair even though he does. Because he instructed me to write the articles, so it was basically "especially made" for him. Although I can try and sell them, it would be really hard on my part. And he accepted the articles in the first place, so I don't see any valid reason why he would refuse to pay me. He's paid me a lot of times before, but now just because I resigned, he's saying those stuff and refusing to pay me. :/

Yea, I also think that it's too small to make a big fuss about, but I still believe that it's my right, you know? And maybe I could sue him big. Lol, but yea I'm just kidding. I really don't know what to do.

Yeah, i heard many positive reviews about Odesk and also Freelancer.com, i'm there and won 2 projects and one full time, always get paid by my employees. Those websites are freelance websites where you can open a dispute if you haven't been paid not like with Craiglist.

I don't suppose I have a written agreement with him. But I don't know if it's really worth my time, since I'm afraid that other people would view it as such a small thing, considering the amount involved.

Anyway, I've thought about that, but considering the way he has been replying and treating me, I don't think it will be effective. I don't think that he would actually believe that I would be able to do that. He might just throw it back at me and proceed to blab about other things that don't make sense. :/

I know how to post blogs and all those, and yes, he provided a video training for his "employees" as a guide in posting on his blog, because he asks for too much.
