Books you learn from

Okay I know that reading in itself is good for the brain and helps you learn or advance in your skills. But the other day I was going through my shelf and I realized that I have no books that I feel like I can truly learn something from.. they are all just get away books. you know the ones that you grab to travel outside of yourself and be those people.. But I want to read books where I can grow as a person. I am just having trouble figuring out how I want to do that?

I have a lot of history, reference and useless info books. Just find a subject your interested in, then turn it from fiction to non-fiction. It has to be something your interested in or you most likely wont read it.

HI LIllyBelleDaisyRose What are your interests, and what all would you like to learn, there are non fiction books on most any topic. Go to a book store and browse and see what really calls to you. then if the books are too expensive take down the titles and go to your local library and check out some books to help you grow. There are self help books, books ohilosophy,my favorite, books on psychology, well almost any subject you like so its up to you to decide on what you want to check out at the library.Even books on gardening can help you grow, and on interior decorating. So see that your public library is a great place to learn about most anything.

I think that reading books to get away helps you grow as a person just fine. I can learn more from a selfless character than from any self-help book. You just need to pick reading that you feel is uplifting and makes you want to be better. If you're just looking for book-smarts, than non-fiction books aren't at all hard to find. Find a subject you have an interest in, look up the subject at your local library or bookstore and presto! Tons of books on the subject for you to choose from.

I learn from every book I read, I am a book worm and I read a whole book or two books in a day it is just because I love reading a lot, and I also learn from all of them, when reading Danielle Steel's books I came to know about history a lot then I learn about investigation in James Paterson's book, and more about law in John Grisham's books so I think reading makes a person wiser and mature in life.
