The WRONG dog poo???????

Yeah, I would, but then I don't monitor poop detail in the park for a living!

It is a big deal if its just left lying around in parks & on pavements. We have signs on lamposts etc stating quite clearly that its an offence to leave it there - but these guys were obviously carrying their responsibilities a bit too far

I think the majority of dog owners are responsible enough to pick up the poo - which is probably why these officials were so desperate to catch someone!

But he has opposable thumbs so will be able to pick it up himself

I suppose I can understand them mentioning it since its their job to make sure the place is clean but, once she'd picked up both there was no case to answer.

Probably hourly with a bonus for each poo they see someone walking away from. Perhaps she should just have tipped the 'wrong' one out again... over their heads!

They must have been watching pretty carefully. I spose they saw the dog do it and then one watched to see who the dog ran back to & the other watched the poo to see if it was picked up... So they would have missed her picking up the other one

It seems that they have really taken it to heart all this Poop business is that they get commission for "Spotting The Deliberate Mistake"? Or is it some kind of competition where they get extra points or extra Badges for carrying out these kind of Duties?
I can just picture them now dressed up like Sherlock Holmes and with a big Spy Glass following right on the trail of the poor Doggies whose only crime is being a Dog?
All this is really silly but it happens here too it seems that the Big Eight have come to some kind of agreement with each other and the only real intention is well I will drop that bone of contention and let someone else chew on it. If I were a Dog I would think myself that they have lost their screws somewhere along the line.
I really cannot imagine that the Policemen themselves agree with these kind of silly laws they have invented.
So I am really laughing at the Law itself reminds me of some of those silly Laws they had before in other times of History.
You have made me laugh tears of laughter because this is so funny and yet really the poor People who get picked on bullied in this way is not very funny at all.
Happens here too by the way and I would advise anyone who comes here Driving to pay very special attention to what is going on around them the Road Signs and all and especially the Roadworks and building in progress ones that somehow seem to be going on in Supermarkets especially the big ones where it is confusing as to where to enter and where to get out properly unless you are local and know the ins and outs (grin). Seems this is some kind of game they have going too not funny either. I have seen People fined for going the wrong way even when they have gone the right way. Those signs they have put up all brand new of course seem to be part and parcel of this "Game"?

I know local Policemen here and they agree being off duty of course that some of the things they have to do they do not like doing at all but they either do it or lose their Job. So this bit I mention about the Roadworks and all that is for real and the last time they said that seeing as they were going off Duty for them to enter the right way the next time. So the so called offenders got let off that time. So which way is left and which is right? Bit hard for me to explain this one does this happen over there too I mean in the UK?

I dont think the police involve themselves too much with dog poo - they leave it to council wardens and the like. I did notice today as I was out walking, that the penalty for dog poo is now upto £1000. I do think people should pick up after their dogs and I do think there should be penalties but, I think the woman in the report was really unlucky to meet up with the 'jobsworths'.Fair enough, if she'd picked up a poo that should have been enough.

With the road signs... we usually have more signs up telling you that there are new signals ahead or new road layouts. I think most police (unless you're driving dangerously or cause an accident) would probably let you off if you went wrong on a new layout. They've put in a new roundabout on my route to see my son and I was glad there was someone in front of me so I could follow them!

Here we have what you call Municipal Police that take care of those kind of things and at a local level dealing with People and all that. Yes they are the ones that fine People here for that and other petty things.
So that is why I mentioned the Police over there I was´nt tying with the same brush actually and I did think it was a bit odd for them of all People to be carrying out this kind of thing. But yes we have what we call Municipal Police for all that.
We don´t have those kind of signs by the way to tell us about other signs at least not yet. Everyone is complaining about all this setup I think the poor Lorry Drivers are the worst hit. In the meantime we keep our eyes extra peeled for any Sign that we have not seen before. Actually if you do get fined you are much better off paying it as if you take it to court it will not be admitted usually. At the moment there is no leniency I am afraid even for first time rounders and I really think that there should be because we all can make mistakes.

We have Community Police officers aswell now. They dont have the same powers as the police but they are the ones who walk the beat (or cycle sometimes).

Those Policemen we have here the Municipal Policemen have powers to fine People so they take it into their Head to fine for the most ridiculous things you can imagine. I have seen one Municipal everyday he would go and measure the Cars parked in the Street down below he would measure on the outside and everywhere you can imagine. Such a zealous person. You would find him measuring the blue lines and how close the tyres were to the line. Sometimes he would be there for ages on all fours measuring things up. I did´nt however see him jump up and down with glee if he got someone because I just could not be bothered to watch him for so long. Strange behaviour indeed but that´s what he did.

Are your blue lines the equivalent of our yellows? Serves him right of he kneels in dog poo...he could fine 2 people at the same time. I bet he'd like that!

That´s it I´m starting to smile again now you have said that there are a few others I would not mind seeing the same situation right now but I won´t go into that. Yeah he could fine two People at the same time and he would have so many medals on his Jacket and so much extra money in his Pocket he could not be able to walk properly in a straight line so then he might get the breathalyzer test being done on him. Blue Lines no they are what they call the parking lines within the City older city part but then again it does´nt always apply as they paint the blue lines anywhere anyway. We have yellow lines with the same rules as anywhere else. Also now your parking ticket has a number and you have to make sure you have got all the right details on it too before you go off and leave you Car. Joys of this life really cool is´nt it (grin).

Well, I think you're pretty safe then... even against these officials

The only place I've seen free "dog-doo" bags is at the vets & I guess thats just because they dont want pet crap left on their floor I've seen full bags left by the letter box, hung on bushes/trees, thrown into streams... may as well just leave it where it was dropped - at least it would be bio-degradeable I spose.

I agree, might as well leave it to compost into the ground. What is the use in picking it up if you are not going to dispose of it correctly?

There's far less dog poo lying around than there was say, 10 years ago. I dont know if its because dog owners have become more socially responsible or cos they dont want to face the penalties.

Glad your teeth were ok. I got an 'all clear' at my last check a couple of months back too. I think mine cost about £16 with or without cleaning/xrays because we have an NHS dentist & they have set rates.
These wouldn't have been policemen (bobbies/coppers/rozzers) but "council wardens" - like park keepers! probably far easier to hassle an older lady over a bit of poop than to take on the vandals and perverts that might well frequent the area. Yeah, that would've been a good tactic for her
