How important is a subject line?  

hi eddyspaghetti Yes the title line should be an attention guide to
get fellow my lotters to read the discussion and decide whether they
are interested or not.I get so teed off though when people here are too
lazy to read my discussion and just read the title as often the title does not tell all the most important information. then their responses have nothing to do with the subject of my discussion at all.

I agree since it is what drives me to want to respond to the post. Then come the discussion part which should keep me wanting to respond. But,it happens sometimes I have to hit the back button.

According to me subject line is very important to any discussion. It plays a nice role in getting more responses. If it is nice and attracted by others, surely we will get a nice amount of response to our discussion. The subject only viewed by the other mylotters at the beginning, so we must give more attention to it, while creating a discussion. Placing a subject which is suitable to our topic is very impotant, if the subject is not related to our topic we get only lack of responses. So subject is very important. Happy mylotting.

Of course it is Eddie. Like you said, it is the attention grabber. An unique and intriguing subject line will make people see the discussion. It is really a very important part of the discussion. Specially if you want to get more responses...

Here at Mylot, I think the subject line is very important. I absolutely hate it when people put something that should go in another category than the one they chose. This may sound mean, but when this happens I think to myself, "Can't you read the interest buttons." I know Mylotters come from all over the world, but if you don't speak enough English to do this simple task, what are you doing on this website. I wouldn't go to the Japanese equivalent of Mylot unless I possessed that basic understanding. I try to pay close attention to where I categorize a discussion. I think this is beneficial to other Mylotters.
