How would you reponse to your domestic helper if she is really bad ?  

I am a young mother of two little kids, elder with 3 years and younger with 5 months newbie and we are separated from our parents, so i am in need to take care my children alone. I place a servant maid to help me in my house works, she is good enough so i don't have this type of problems. If i have such type of problems surely i will stop her and i will do all my duties myself. Nice discussion. Happy lotting.

That is so true. Nowadays, honest helpers are difficult to find because if they are honest, someone else keeps them. There may be some young people who are still innocent or hones, searching for a home to become a househelp but it's not easy just to trust someone new. In my home, I don't have a domestic helper because we can manage it. I was looking for one before but I decided against it since my kids can help me in the household chores.

I have always had maids and did not experience the kind of attitude that you have mentioned. My relationship with them has been quite good. In fact we have been on several holidays leaving the responsibility to keep house to them. But what you have mentioned could also be there. It is not possible to do household chores without their help.

I would get rid of them. Yet I have to say that domestic help is no worse than any other kind of help. The major problem might be that these are humans working at opposite ends of an economic scale from their wealthier clients in a world of materialism. Since there are bad and dishonest rich, middle class, and poor people, it's logical there will be dishonest poor people who cannot resist the temptations. Domestic work is one of the lowest jobs you can get and many of them are undereducated and poor. So to see you having something they don't only strengthens the temptation to steal. Also, this might be a small percentage, but sometimes a domestic worker can be accused of taking something that someone else has taken.

I agree with you that we should only hire helpers when we need them but I don't think that 95% of domestic helpers are bad. We should treat them good so they will also treat us good. Their actions are just reactions of the way we handle them. Don't act almighty just because you are the "boss". If we really want a harmonious relationship with the, let us treat them as humane as possible. There are many cases of physical abuse on helpers and some are even dying because of such act. If we treat our helpers nicely for sure, they will also give back the kindness we are showing them and thus, we can be assured of that they won't do bad things behind our back.

I have never hired a domestic helper nor have I ever desired to. I would not want someone that I don't really know in my home when I am not here or going thru my things. And I really, really would not want to be paying someone that would easily have access to steal things from me and rob me of my identity. Even if I could afford one, I would not one. I prefer to take care of my own things on my own. I actually kind of like taking care of my own home and doing things for myself.

My relative got domestic helper for his dad who is a stroke patients now resting at home , the patient is little handicap results from the stroke and need help to walk around and sometime to wheel chair around.
These Asian maids are terrible sometime , partly because of the maids agents who are fraudalent of recruiting bad maids in the first place to place them in to new employer house. Some are mentally not capable to handle the workload , and some are basically don have the skills to be maids. SOme ran away with strangers which become they new bf , some steal money and horde them , some ran away on the advice of the those criminal minded maids agents to cheat the employers deposites and get hired to another new house and such on.
Some asian maids from relatives experience abuse those under their care , mix they piss into rice and tea , and such. Some working couple has no choise to hire these maids to help their old grandparents at home and take care the toddler while the parents both are working. They installed hidden CCTV around the house , imagine the horror , stupid and funny things the maid do in the house which are recorded.

Usually if the maid ran wild, finally she will be returned to the maid agents or exchange for another new maid..These maid will be recycled to unsuspecting new employers.Some asian maids are good and responsible. But to a limit , they do have their weaknesses.Some maids are good and their contracts are renew, some work for 10 years. SOme are so terrible , they are returned to the maid agents in less than 48 hours.

Our family has never had a domestic helper in our home. However, several years ago my mother's job was to sit with an elderly lady and help her with the tasks that she wasn't able to do by herself anymore. I think that if my mother or her co-worker would have been troublesome to Elma, then Elma would have just told them how it was and she would have took them that she no longer required the service of either of them and would have found someone else to sit with her.
