They require law enforcement to check immigration status. They must bring them before the magistrate.
38% reduction in violent crime.
80% of citizens favor the law
Not one substantiated claim of racial profiling! (not one)
hhmmm

No, Arizona is just the one getting beat up over it. It is almost like the President has a dislike for Texas, Arizona, and Nevada. Hmm, must be jealous of the hundred degree weather down there.

It could be the snakes or he could have a distinct dislike for horses and the desert.

Two years ago my state passed some of the toughest illegal immigration laws in the country. No one said anything. No one called us "racist" or "discrimination". But the laws were basically aimed at stopping employers from hiring illegals.
And just so you know....Our state house is now considering making those laws even tougher and make it a crime for an illegal to get a job in this state. So the employer and the illegal would be held criminally accountable for getting the job. ALso making a state crime (not just a federal one) to be in the state illegally.
It has a good chance of passing.

Calderon won't get a good reception here. We don't take kindly to foreign leaders coming into our country and trying to tell us what our laws should be or how we handle our issues. He might find himself deported....or at least told to leave.

Immigration is not a State issue. On the other hand however, I understand that sometimes people can become tired and resort to taking any necessary action in order to defend and protect themselves. It happens all the time. The fishers in the US coastal states first took to protecting their resources before their state and national officials did (though not very successfully) just like the Somalis have been doing for years in attempts to defend and protect their nation and national resources against disrespectful outlaws!

If we can de-democratize our state legislature and governor, we might be able to pass something in NM. But Bill R. and this legislature gives illegals drivers licenses and free reign. When you can't win a fight with common sense/logic, throw out the word "racial" and hopefully you'll win a battle. That's all that's been done, but the battle for the liberals is going badly.
