A man that did NOT campaign has won the Democrat primary. Unemployed veteran Alvin Greene has won the Senate primary in South Carolina by 60%.
Party chair Carol Fowler, due to revealed court records stating that Greene allegedly showed an obscene picture to a college student.
Greene had no staff and did no campaigning. The DNC has made no contact with him, most likely will not be backed.
He supports jobs, healthcare but didnt know what TARP was. Also thinks that the Koreas should be united through diplomatic means....
Greene is set to go up against DeMint in September

I think this is kind of funny, what do you think his opponent felt? He spent quite a bit on his campaign.
If you are a resident of South Carolina, did/would you vote for him?

Everyone is definately talking about here. And laughing about it. They have asked him to step down...but so far he is refusing. Don't exspect the DNC to back him..so you might as well say he is not going to win the general. Looks like Demint is going to get to keep his seat without much of a fight.
There is a lot of finger pointing going on right now. This may actually get nasty. The state DNC is accusing the state RNC of putting Greene in the democratic race to split votes. Basically they are calling him a plant. But if that is the case (who knows if it is true)...why did he win? He did NOT campaign. People are also asking where the $10,000 entry fee came from sense he is unemployed.
All I can say is boy the voting democrats of this stae must really have hated Vic Rawl. I don't know much about him except he DID run a campaign and has been in state politics for a while so he was much better known. Maybe that played against him. Maybe people were not voting "for" Greene...but "against" Rawl.
Personally nothing shocks me anymore when it comes to SC politics...anything can and usually does happen..lol..never a dull moment let me tell you.

If I were a S. Carolinian, I think I'd be really upset with the calibre of people I had to choose from on the Democratic ticket. In this case, knowing Greene's position on some items, I'd have written in a candidate...just about anyone would have done.

Why would they elect him after doing what he did. I am from South Carolina and I would never have voted for him. I guess his opponent felt like he could not stand a chance with him.
