Selling my textbooks  

If you find it more useful to you just keep it for future reference, but if you want extra cash then sell it, anyway they are used already.

As I was reading your post, I was thinking "That's probably because the textbooks aren't computer related" but woah! Data-strut and DB? Why'd you sell them?

I sold my books that aren't technical, but all y technical books are still with me. DB, SAD, etc. all my techy books are sitting in my shelf. A lot of lower year students asked me if they could buy my books, I said no, I'd let them borrow but not buy. I believe that the books would be very handy in the future. Though the technology moves fast, the basic concepts remain the same, and backwards compatibility is always a big issue in IT, legacy systems are also big.

I sold my books whose content rarely changes, like english, filipino, psychology text books :)

hey my dear friend, i too have such an experience as i too sell my old books to my juniors. but it wont matters . afer your studies sell it man. because we wouldnt llok to it any more as my opinion and it will remain as a waste for long time with us and after that we or our family members will burn it out . it is better to make some money out of your used books as i think. now too i am studying in an engg college and i will sell all my past semester books to my juniors

if you feel it would help in future just keep it yourself allas just sell. Actualy what i'm doing is i just keep all my computer related books ,maths book are keep myself and another ussless book for me selling and getting money, by that money i again purchased another one usefull book.... it help me a lot by increasing my knowledge on perticular subject what i'm concentrated.
Here i think you don't have a perticular vision for you future , make a vision and aim to that

I have read and used many books over the years and since I have been on line, I have sold many on Amazon Marketplace and some on Ebay. I have also found that the Internet it a great source of reasonbly-priced books.

Some books didn't sell on-line so I took them to a charity shop and they sold there quickly. Strange the way some people won't buy on-line. _Derek

In our place, I think some private schools are clever enough to change their textbooks every year so they younger sisters or brothers cannot use them anymore and the parents are forced to buy new ones. It is always business here. Schools have used this strategy of changing textbooks in order to make profit.

I sold most of my old textbooks. I found a website for students where you can sell the textbooks that I you don't need anymore. I didn't ask for much money, because just like you I didn't want to spend too much time on it. I didn't want to keep the books, I knew I wasn't going to use them again, and it didn't want them to take up space on my books shelves, so I figured it was best to sell them at a low price. Some of students who were interested in my books lived in my local area, and they came to my house to pick up the books. Some of them lived in other parts of the countries and in those cases I sent the books via snail mail.

wow , i just keep my testbooks in my room , now they are stacked like a hill ,i want to sell them ,but nobody wants them , because schools buy new textbooks for the students in our area ,in fact , i think it's wasteful,but i think it will be difficult to let students use the second-hand textbooks ,firstly schools can gain profit through buying books for students ,so it's impossible to let school call for this movement first ,if they really do that , it means they give up their road for gaining money

hiqianyun6 I went back to complete my degree at age 54 and graduated at age 56 so I sold back a lot of new books, kept some of my used books as the resale was not worth it and too I liked to go through them occasionally too. Because even back then the new ones were getting expensive I sold the ones I knew I would never use again. now sadly
all of my textbooks are in storage awainting the day my son gets a job and can move me out of here. I r eally did not give any away as they were all really costly.

Right now, it will depend upon all my books that I obtain. Some I keep for references and others I plan on probably selling. Mostly, it's going to be depend on what I'm going to need the most. It just comes down to what will be needed the most and how to go about it in terms of selling. Others I'm going to keep for future references such as the C++ book, Database, and probably a Java book for example.
