A good example of what I mean is David Beckham. Now, don't get me wrong, I absolutely ADORE David Beckham for loads of reasons BUT when I first heard his voice I couldn't believe it! His voice didn't go with his extremely masculine physique. However, that didn't put me off him lol. Despite the voice not going with his body he's still a lovely bloke, it has to be said.
Can you think of anybody (probably male I would think) whereby the voice doesn't go with the body? I tell you a voice that grated on me big-time was the little blonde lady in The West Wing. Remember her? She was lovely but her voice drove me nuts.
There are also a few male members of this site who's voices I'd love to hear but I'm not gonna tell you who they are, so there!

There is a country singer named Josh Turner, and he has this really deep, sexy voice. I imagined him to be large, muscular, etc. When I first saw him, he looked like a teenager, and he is thin and I don't think very tall, either - not at all what I had pictured. In the other direction, Aaron Neville has a high voice that definitely does not match his very large and masculine physique.

Janey -Yes, Josh Turner is the opposite of Beckham, and Aaron Neville would be similar to him.
Dogg - It has been a long time since I have seen you on here!
*runs to Dogg and gives him a huge hug that knocks him to the ground* Ooops, sorry about that.
I can't help it that you have a body like a racing snake, which would be similar to Josh Turner, so I wonder what it is that makes you similar to Aaron Neville.

Hahaha!! I know what you are talking about! The first time I heard Beckham's voice I was surprised too. It doesn't sound as masculine his appearance. But he has a great talent, that's all that matter, right? I adore the Beckhams, the couple have strong marriage, and I think Victoria is a good mother.
Another person that comes in my mind is Simon Cowell ex girlfriend Terri Seymour. It's pretty ironic to me because Simon's job is to find the best voices in the world!
D'oh!

Yeah, you are right, they are just junk cheap gossips that no one will believe! I can relate why many girls are jealous of Victoria, because I am one of them! LOL
If only I can go shopping whenever I want and have all the Hermes Birkin bags with me
. I like her style, she always look good. And she is a very talented fashion designer as well. Way to go, Victoria!

I don't really follow what Simon Cowell does but I believe you when you tell me that his ex-girlfriend's voice is "suspect" lol. Thanks for sharing.
I agree with you about the Beckhams. I watched a documentary about them when they were stationed in Madrid and they really are a special couple and are doting parents, of course. The only reason why people slag off Victoria is because they are jealous of her, pure and simple!
There are rumours of a split between the two of them but I don't believe it for one minute.

Well there's me, my voice is really deep...
Or to turn it totally around, there was this woman at work that I got to know from conference calls. She had a really beautiful voice, and I had this picture of a gorgeous brunette. Of course she looked nothing like I had imagined.

I have to agree about Beckham although to give him some credit his voice has changed over the years and suits him a little better now.
One actor’s voice which not only seemed a mismatch but maybe me laugh was that of the late Paul Lynde. Now I bet you maybe scratching your head, he was Uncle Arthur in 60s sitcom “Bewitched” and appeared in a few Doris Day movies. It was such a whiney, nasal almost high pitched voice it was so wrong yet so funny.
Another voice which at the time to me never fitted was that of Don Warrington in “Rising Damp” it just sounded so wrong to here such a posh British accent coming from someone from Trinidad, well at the time anyway.

I have a cousin who is pretty and look so feminine but when she speak it is like a thunder so not so nice to hear. Often she have a shrill sounds so likely she often been reminded to speak softly so the hearer is not irritate when listening to her. Physical attributes doesn't need to be perfect as everyone have their own perfectionist just need to be discover..

Sometimes I wish I had a more feminine voice.
A friend of mine had a very soft voice but, unfortunately, she sent out the wrong signals to guys so it was left to me to sort them out...she just didn't have the right voice when she told them to "get lost" or words to that effect!

Hi Janey, that post gave me a smile. I don't know much about David Beckham but how does he sound?
We have one local pianist called Cecille Licad who was Imelda Marcos' prodigy in the 70's. For the longest time, we heard her play and see her in pictures with the Madam. But after the Marcoses were overthrown, everybody suddenly found their voices. Literally though, we heard Cecille speak. Then we discovered why Imelda kept her mum. Her voice was masculine. Didn't go with her image. But like you, I still like Cecille.

Mike Tyson immediately popped into my mind. For a tough boxer, he has the voice of a soft spoken insurance salesman or something. I agree with you about Beckham, too. I was surprised as well when I first heard him speak.

Yes, Mike Tyson is a very good example, thanks for that! In fact, loads of boxers have voices that don't go with their bodies but we're not allowed to make lists on here lol.
Thanks again.
