Sounds like a great party. Demonstrators attached American flags along the Hereford border. Lots of speakers including Arpaio and various candidates, people demanding protection of our borders. Do you think this was a simple protest regarding protecting our border, or do you think it was more a campaigning event? http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/08/15/tea-partiers-rally-arizona-border-mexico/

I love a good tea party!! As for this issue..it is not going away...not until the government solves the problem. Not just the illegals but also the cartel and violence they bring. It is a matter of national security. People are fed up and want action....and I imagine the protests will only get worse until the government gets serious about it.

This is a grass roots protest. The Tea Parties I have been to have talked about the economy, size of Government. They want to get back to the Constitution and follow it. There has always been campaigning at these events but then that is good so that the people can hear all those who want to speak. I have never seen anyone turned away form speaking. I have seen them limited in time to make sure everyone gets a chance to speak. At these events you get more than a 15 second sound bite, and you have a chance to talk to the person after the speeches.

I agree that the speeches are a good thing - some pretty great speeches have come out of tea partys. I just dont like the politicians jumping on the band wagon for votes.

There is no longer such a thing as a "simple protest" because the power- mongers and corruptocrats do not listen to us or care to protect us, as is their duty. This is WAY BEYOND "campaigning", but is the desperate cry of a dying nation. Frankly, the tea parties are not strong or forceful enough and their emphasis is misplaced on "just economics" rather than the dismantling of our Constitutional Republic. And, as we all know, the monsters in charge and the MSM mock them, at best, or simply don't notice them at worst.

Laglen, If that was a campaign ploy that chose a really bad section of the border. Hereford is probably a location not many Americans have ever heard of. A tiny town also. Wonder if they waved at the blimp that spies on Americans in the area (so the rumor goes).

I didnt see them waving, just attaching flags to the fence.
