Personally, I think it's a stupid idea, but I hate most artificial scents. Just don't make anything for a gift unless you know the receiver likes that scent and isn't possibly allergic to the chemicals in the yarn. I wonder how many times you'd have to wash something to get rid of the odor.

True on not making it as a gift til you know what scent and if the person is allergic to it. As for how many washes before the scent is gone not sure on that one.

That's interesting! I wonder how many washings the scent would last through? Have you seen any in the stores yet? I'd think they would have to wrap it in something to keep the scents from mixing. Wouldn't it be cool to make a wash cloth and maybe a hand towel from lavender scented yarn?? :)

Have not saw it in stores yet. It would definitely be cool to make a wash cloth and hand towel from lavender scented yarn. Like a lot of people are wondering how many washes before the scent is gone that is a good question I will have to look into that one. Maybe I will send them a letter and see what kind of response I get back.

I like Sugar N Cream yarns and I was aware that they had a scented yarn line but I've never used them. I actually haven't seen them in any of the stores that I shop in and I haven't seen them online at any of the stores that I buy from. I'd be interested in trying them but I'm not sure what I'd crochet with them.

I love the sugar 'n' cream yarn. I'll be checking into this to see if they have holiday scents. I think that would be great for decorations in the house, would give it a festive scent, much like scented candles.

Dear Tina,
Though I am far from being one of your typical friends, I like the way you are attached to your knitting, and how you have your own circle of knitting fraternity. The lavender must be a great motivation while knitting, am I right? And I think your next project will be with Sugar 'n' cream!
Here's a girl wearing a crochet dress. Hope you like it.
I do.

I got the email too and didn't think it was such a great idea. If it has a scent, that means something was added to it to make it so. Why add extra chemicals and such that we don't need? A lot of people have sensitivities to harmful chemicals and scents, so I don't think it's a good idea to add them to something like yarn. What if you make something from it and the person you give it to has sensitivities/allergies?
No thanks, not for me.
