It's terrible experience I have after a day without sleep. Last night I sleep more than 8 hours but when I went to the office and start working it seems that my eyes still want to sleep. I am look very tired during work. That experience will never happen again until I have work. It's very difficult if your body didn't coordinate your mind. It's seems I don't want to work the whole day.

I've experienced this before. That was in a 3 days 2 nights camp which I participated in, before I entered the school that I was studying in. Woah, I can tell you, during the second last day, all of us went through the whole night without sleep, and even danced to the night, except for me, because the music they played was so freaking loud!!! After that dance, we all didn't sleep as they left the hall lights on. Me too and I remember our group played a game of icebreaking from night till morning. But, the whole experience was nice as I love to stay through the night but once is enough. When the camp ended, I immediately took a nap LOL.

I have read that when you did not get the right amount of sleep, you are in a "sleep debt" , meaning you have to recoop your number of hours unslept for the next days. So, in your case you really have so much "sleep debt", even if you have already slept for more than 8 hours making you lethargic for such lack of sleep. By being lethargic, you cannot concentrate on any work you will be doing. It's as if your body feels heavy to do any work and your mind afloat always. Perhaps, you could file for a leave of absence and just sleep and sleep or maybe oversleep for consecutive nights/ days until you have regained the lost number of sleep you had. I just hope this will help you regain your vibrancy!

Hi july teen: I have read your recent discussions and I understand that you feel terrible because we need to sleep at least 8 hours a day. I hope you'll have enough time to recover yourself of this experience. Sometimes due to our jobs we have to make these sacrifices, however our health must be our first priority. ALVARO

I feel that after a long vacation, it's like I have forgotten everything I knew before going on vacation and now when I am back, not feeling to work and want to go on vacation agaian. It would be difficult to manage work if there is sleep disorder, I had this problem in my first job and I left the job for the same reason. Again in the current job I had to spend time till 11 pm. Now it's changed. Thank You for sharing.

I know how you feel. It doesn't matter how long you sleep for a night, let's say 10 hours, until your body is able to fully relax you won't be able to feel that you were able to catch up on your sleep. It's like being sleepless for a day really takes a toll out of you

I find that even though I am accustomed to sleep no more than six hours that when I do not get at least the six hours I too feel sluggish and tired the entire day, even after catching up the next day. I suppose it has to do with interrupting our usual routine. I hope you can catch up on your zzz's really soon.

I've gone days without sleep but not by choice. I've had bad insomnia problems this past year. Right now I'm on a sleep aid and it's been working pretty well for me, but I remember how awful it felt to not get any sleep. There's really nothing more frustrating than wanting to sleep, being in bed and trying to sleep, but being unable to. I once went 48 hours without sleep, and let me tell you... that didn't feel good. It was like walking through a cloud and being totally light-headed and not feeling like doing anything except curling up and trying to sleep.
