I just saw Guess Who is Coming To Dinner? It reminded me of watching this film and Guess Who? back to back with my mom.It is rare to find a good remake but Guess Who? is one of them. I wanted my mom to see both . I Knew she liked Guess Who is Coming To Dinner , I hoped she would like Guess Who? And she did! So now whenever I see either one of them , I have a fond memory of my mom. Have you seen a good remake? If so, what was it?

Hi Sarah, There are many movies from the older Bollywood that are now being re-made. (They copy everything from the west/hollywood) and the bitter part is that the newer versions almost fail on every segment. I saw two or three remakes and the best I could find was DON. Though it has the same story line(almost) but the movie was a good watch. However, my mom who is a fan of Amitabh Bachchan who starred in the earlier original version, she did not appreciate the newer version. I could understand that reason. You are a great person and I must mention that. You Miss Your Parents and Owe them deep love and respect... that is what many people miss out in today's world. Regards, theSids.

Oh Bhai! Thank you. It is easy. I had loving parents. By the time my mom passed away , we had been great friends for many years! It is hard to find a good remake. Both of these films are good for different reasons. My favorite Bollywoood film is a remake. It is Ghajini with Khan in the lead!

Wow... that came as a surprise to me... and I was wondering that my behen would not be much aware of the Bollywood movies. He is my wife's favorite (I always tease her saying that ). I dont like this Khan but she prefers watching his movies.

I have seen the Khan who was in Om Shanti Om more! I'm sorry I can't remember these guys first names. And I loved , loved the Kha who player Iman in Saawariya! It was love at first sight! ps. For a few years there was a Bollywood night at my work. Once a month we would bring in food and watch a Bollywood film after hours.

I think there is only one remake that I like watching, which I guess is my favorite. It's the remake of 'An Affair to Remember'. The one that Warren Beatty and Annette Bening did, 'A Love Affair'. I know it's mush, but it's one of those movies where when it goes on, I just stop what I am doing and just watch.

It is not mush, it is a true romantic film.I must confess, I haven't seen the remake and I have only seen clips of the original.

I didn't know that there was a remake. A few months back, Turner Classic Movies was doing a two-fer thing. They played a musical and the non-musical it was based on. I watched My Fair Lady and Pygmalion, and then taped Silk Stockings and Ninotchka. My Fair Lady was Pygmalion almost word for word except for the musical parts. Silk Stockings made quite a lot of story changes. They were all pretty good, though I have to say that Ninotchka was somewhat dull. I liked High Society almost as well as The Philadelphia story. And Little Women and The Three Musketeers - almost every version was really good.

Yes these are remakes. I saw Pygmalion at school . I have never seen my Fair Lady. I tried Ninotchka and I couldn't get into it. I did see Silk Stockings. I seem to either see one or the other but never both! As for the last two , I didn't like Philadelphia Story so i didn't see High Society. I like both Katherine Hepburn's and Winona Ryder's little Women.I never saw the Thjree Musketeers.

George Clooney's version of "Ocean's Eleven" is definitely superior to the original which starred Frank Sinatra and "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" is superior to "Bedtime Story" And althought they are not better the remakes of "Father of the Bride" and "The Miracle on 34th Street" are most definitely the equal of the originals.
