How much do online sites and friends affect your life and behavior?

I am online a lot, and enjoy a lot of friends online. I just found myself compelled to go bake cookies, as a friend had posted about cookies and some pictures. Earlier, I did some research about a topic online, actually two of them, math and sweet potatoes, because I read about them in discussions. I would say that being on the internet affects me a lot, but it is really in a positive way. The only negative that I can see is that I do not get up and move around enough. Oh, and you will have to excuse me, my cookies are calling me to take them out of the oven.

My address is xxxx, send me some cookies. Quite a bit actually as I do take responses whole heartedly, not one hundred percent of the time to get me to completely change my opinion but to take into account as to how I can perhaps improve areas in my life. I will never get too old to learn. I have also purchased items because friends highly spoke of them, and or recommended. I have tried new foods for the same reasons. I am guilty of not moving as much as I should also, but I exercise daily and other times I get up when the body is screaming.

I just told hubby that the cookie bars were really rich, and I wish I was. Wendy looks so optimistic and ready to tackle the world.

I figured Wendy should smile a bit more often. If I could earn like I contribute to so many sites I'd be rich.

Hi GG! I'm always so happy to see you here! I was going to comment to you in one of GB's discussions (so glad he's back)! I know where you got the "cooking baking idea" from and now I have the urge to bake too!lol But, not being a "real baker" all I have in my house is cake mixes and a banana bread mix. I would have to agree with you about the being online. I find myself "researching" all kinds of things from recipes to who knows what. And this is from us "growing up" without computers!lol What kind of cookies are you baking, and can I have one, please?

I felt the same way, seeing them cookies made me want to go bake some. I didn't do it, don't have all the stuff to make them. They sure looked yummy though. I told grandpa Bob if he had been my neighbor and them cookies were out cooling, I would have had to sample some and blame it on the squirrels. I have made so many friends here on mylot. Although I have never met them in person, doesn't make them any less of a friend. My mylot friends have become an important part of my life. I spend lots and lots of time online. I also work on my computer, that is part of it. I feel My online life is positive to me too.

It is okay to add that, even if I did not ask you, you are welcome to speak in my discussions. I had never thought about how someone in a village could not participate in EBay.

I always seem to have stuff on hand for cookies. I just chose to make something really uncomplicated. Yes, you sell on E Bay. I have asked about it before, but honestly I hesitate and have never tried. I have an account and have bought stuff on there. I also have an etsy account and stuff to put in it. I have met a few of my online friends and would love to meet more. It does not always work out when I am traveling, for instance I had one I was going to see when I went to New Hampshire, but her life was in the pits at that time and it did not work. I feel I have made some really good friends online.

You will have to come over with some of those cookies...I will put my teeth in to eat some LOL I've been online for many years. Originally I was excited to get online as I had heard at the last coupon convention I had how you could find all these companies to send you samples and coupons. My first search for those landed me on a game site to earn points for prizes....the rest is history. Marsha

And you have made friends from all over. Maybe some of these international friends on MyLot could help with some of your projects with Jasmine. There are a lot of things I learn when I get to talking with people. Some of them feel almost like family.

Internet having the collection of good and bad things. In the starting any teenager will come to see the bad in the net. But after some time they(even in my case and in everyone case also) know why we are spending time here. For me the internet is so much useful. I am a villager. I don't have any advanced information resources here. I had felt so sadly earlier. Friends are there but they also living in my home, they also don't know about higher studies and advancements in technology. I have no chance contact with the global. Really as a villager i felt so sadly. And some of my city friends are laughed at me few years back. But now i am laughing at them, they are just opening their mouths when i am talking in english(on every topic). And now i am the most advanced student in my circle(its true). I always thinking about a good friend, but in online i have many good friends here, who are giving me full support like a family member. Especially MYLOT friends are so lovable friends. Even you also, actually you are so senior, and you are from USA(developed country), although you are so friendly with me, and giving me valuable suggestions. Have a nice day madam.

This is an excellent illustration of the benefits of having an internet connection. I know that there are people who are trying to make the internet more accessible all over the world trying to make things more even for people in villages and other remote areas. I believe in being friendly, it is such a good feeling. MyLot has done a lot for the people who use it on a regular basis. I love to think of the people who had made fun of you being impressed with the progress you are making in English.

Gee, I now see that I am not the only one. Like just recently when I responded back about you using magnesium with migraines. Now I am going to go research this information for myself. Cookies sound good, but not at midnight so that one is out. But many times in here when responding back to discussions, or being in other sites talking about stuff makes me want it and sometimes I end up going and searching it out or eating that as well. Yes being online a lot does give you a drawback of a stiff back and sore muscles from sitting too long without moving around. Wish the internet had a cure for that except for getting up and moving.

I think on some news magazine show I saw a place that was trying out a tread mill hooked up to run in front of the computer. I think if I had a podium to place my lap top on it would help too. You may want to talk with your doctor about magnesium, but it is generally considered safe. Some people with diabetes are actually deficient in it. I think I am having a very good and enjoyable online week. No, cookies at midnight are not necessarily good.

It felt good today to go outside for a little bit. We still have some ice around, but it was warm enough that I took the big trash out to the curb, and did not wear a jacket. I just have to strike a balance with being online and then doing things offline. Is it warm enough to start a garden yet? It certainly is not here, but there are things we can put out in March.

In the past I have seen some obnoxious people, but not too many. I am home and unemployed right now, so I am on here a lot. I have been craving something sweet, so that is why the cookie discussion just pushed me over the edge. I just have to wait for them to cool enough to hold together. I was good though, and ate some homemade chili and a small bowl of corn dip so it is not just sugar and caffeine. I think it is neat to get to meet all kinds of people, both online and in the real world. We see other people's way of life, and it is cool.

I feel for all mylot friends here who are still jobless as the mean old economy does not seem to be perking up yet and when my son is once more in a computer programming job I will dance the happy dance too as then I know its over. but not yet. lol I have been so hungry for chili and its been a long time since our mexican cooks here have made it and they do make an excellent chili and most mexican dishes they are really good at like tacos and enchiladas.

No I won't reply in positive! Most of my online time goes on finding useful documents and such for me. Except mylot, I don't go to 'online sites' much and somehow those don't influence my life anyhow. Though here I get a lot of support if needed, and a lot of funny scoldings too Well, my life revolves around computer, and my sister wonders how people can be in front of pc always. Kind of routine I think. I still get to move around a lot because of my other responsibilities, as you know there is college and whatnot. :) If ever I blame anything for my not having enough exercise, that'll be my sleeping habit not my pc. :P Ah yes, I saw that discussion and I'm so happy. I don't bake cookies and that makes me automatically qualified to eat those all.

That member can be a bad influence! He's ruined my diet quite a few times! I'm online all day since I write articles and need to research them so I'm in and out of myLot throughout my work day. The members here keep me company, make me laugh and sometimes even help me with my research. If not for the internet I would not have anyone to talk to, as I live alone with only my 2 dogs who are not the best conversationalists.

I agree that I don't get up and about as much when I'm online, but if I didn't have this, I'd probably just veg out watching TV or sleep, so I'm actually more productive doing this than I'd be otherwise. By the way, how'd the cookies turn out?

The cookies were yummy. I enjoy cooking lots of things, and so the chili was also yummy. I think I will get out and about more when the weather warms up. I am trying to do more things besides the internet, but you are right, it is better than just vegging and watching television. Some of my crafting and stuff is upstairs and so I have to go up and down stairs to accomplish things.

JO, the cookies were great. I realized that I have been slacking when it comes to starting discussions. How can my friends visit with me if I do not provide them with anything new?I have had such a good time the last two days seeing old friends online and having interactions with them. It is really good, especially when the weather is on the chilly side.

Hi GG That sounds so very familiar to me. I spend most of my day on the Internet due to my scope of work or the friends. The initial things were disastrous as I would leave the fan on in some room and stay glued to my PC in this room but over the time, I have overcome such mishaps. But yes, the only this is that I cannot stay away from the PC for longer durations and this is really sad at times

Hi GG , I hope you are not making gingerbread men cookies , for I love to eat them. Would make me for sure. myLot has been one of the most influential sites for me of all time .. I even promoted this site to some friends before on my old blog .. and I just feel like here , it's like a big giant cafe (think I've said this before a lot of times , LoL..) where we can get to know many people from different level and I'm in awe of how many awesome friends here with good hearts and great stories to tell and share. Sometimes I get ideas for my tweet posts from myLot discussions too .. I would be carried away , LoL .. have a fun day to you always. Nice to see you around again.

I am online a lot to try to earn. I've still not found a job and partially that is my fault. Now I really need to get my rear in gear and I am truly trying. Being online and talking to my online friends does help me as they can tell me things some of my friends would not tell me. It also affects me positively because every little of money I earn online helps me get closer to buying something that I need / is crucial for me to get a job with. In any case, it can affect me negatively because I am so stressed about things that all I see is online for days an days, it's earn, eat, sleep, earn, eat, sleep, a schedule that I am trying to get out of but just can't, not quite yet anyway.

Sadly, I am in the very same boat, except you are, I think, at the beginning of your working life and I am very near the end. I need to find a job and work about five more years full time. Then I can do part time and take it from there.

My working history hasn't been the best. I've gotten fired from jobs, and quit some without a two weeks notice. I think that is partially why it's so hard for me to find a job. That and the fact that I can only really apply to places within a five mile radius for now, has really limited what I can do. I hope you can find a good full time job soon. That's what I'd ideally like is full time but I'll take what I can get.

It made me happy. I found great friends online especially in this site. I was engaged in stimulating intellectual conversations when I wanted to be mentally challenged. It gave me comic relief whenever I was feeling down or when I just wanted to have a laugh. Generally speaking about the internet, it was my constant companion when I was holed up inside the house and had no one to physically talk to. There was one point when most people were busy completing requirements or something and I was just plain lonely. The internet became my refuge. I had online friends who are real people and who have learned to care about me and I have learned to care about as well. In terms of information, whenever I find something trivial, I would research about it if it was true. Easy DIY stuff that was possible for me to do would eventually materialize in my room.LOL I get up to date information about people and issues that is happening all over the world. That's how online sites and online friends affect my life and behavior.
