We have been buying the Luvs Ultra Leakguard diapers, but since they changed the design, they just don't hold up to my daughters sometimes massive bowel movements. I'm looking for a diaper that has the flap on the back inside to catch any explosion out the top, but that also fits snug around the waist and along the thigh.

I actually have a half pack of those right now. You are right, I haven't had any urine leaks, but big poops do not stay in though. They don't have that inner flap either :( The securing tabs aren't as durable either. IF she doesn't have pants on the diaper comes right off.
Have you noticed that even if your daughter stays dry at night the diaper seems to shred or something?

I really have not had any problems with the securing tabs. My 2 year old has to work on the tabs to get them off, and she had no problems with some of the name brand diaper brands.
I had one package that seemed to pill, like a sweater does after you wash it. But that was a one pack occurrance.

That pretty much what happened, but it was a few in the pack. Maybe it was just a bad pack?

I've tried tons of different diaper brands with my daughter. The best that I've found are Costco's Kirkland Signature brand. They don't have the flap on the back, but I really like them because they have an elastic band across the back that keeps everything contained. I'm really impressed by how much they hold. The only time we ever had problems with leaks was when my daughter outgrew the size 3 diapers and everything squished out the top. The size 4s were a bit big at first, but the elastic in the back let me secure them snugly enough that it wasn't a problem at all.
The other brands I use in a pinch when I can't get to Costco are Parent's Choice from Walmart and DG Baby from Dollar General. They're both okay, but nowhere near as reliable as the Kirkland Signature diapers. It seems like I have to change my daughter a lot more often with them or they leak.

I'll have to find someone with a Costco card and check those diapers out. When my son was little I did use Walmart bran don occasion but when he'd get really wet - like at night - the diapers would some time leak a gel like substance.

I wish these companies would stop changing their products around and taking away the products that we are used to using. they should leave that product on the market and let people try the new one if they choose to. I had better luck with Pampers.

The only thing that makes me a bit leery about Pampers is that when they witched over to their newest line of diapers some kids have extremely bad skin reactions. I am sure those have all been recalled. Still a worry.

in my country pampers is what they say is the best. but pampers is not what we used when our son was still using diapers. we used a local brand that is manufacturing in our country. it is affordable and it holds the pee and we are satisfied with it. sometimes you have to try all of it before settling in the best that you can see. sometimes some dialers cause babys rashes specially in our country that is always hot.

When both of my children were little, I absolutely swore by Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers. I never had a poopy explosion with either of those. I didn't like Luvs at all because it seemed that the tabs on them liked to tear away from the diaper where it was stitched to the rear part of the diaper. I also liked the fact that the Pampers diapers were a lot softer than the feel of a Luvs diaper. Thankfully, I am now done with diapers, however.

When my daughter was little I used the pampers cruisers as they were the only ones that would not leak and didn't give her diaper rash. After she turned one I tried the pampers baby dry and they worked well until she was potty trained. I never found anything that would handle her blow outs when she was little I just kept pants on her at all times. When she was born I tried many kinds of diapers and the pampers where the ones that worked best for her. She managed to pee through Luvs, huggies, walmarts soft cloud (store brand at that time). I know they huggies say that they are shaped like the baby but I never found them to work well at all. I would say try small packages or even see if you can get samples from companies and try them until you find the right one. I am with you I hate when they change things that I like. I usually will write the company and tell them how unhappy that I am. You might try a few different stores and maybe see if you can find some of the old style as well. I did that a few times when they changed the diapers.

I had a bunch of samples when she was first born and they all seemed to work about the same. I'll have to check out the store around here. Too bad this isn't happening when she was ready to potty train lol
