Apocalyptic Alert!

Our usual fine afternoons were rocked crazy by possible tsunami alerts yesterday. The Japan 8.9 quake was, by earthquake standard, the most devastating. And because the Philippines lie on the same Pacific Ocean, the ripple effect could very well hit us dead.
And so alert levels were issued on 19 provinces of our islands, all lying on the Pacific coastline. The velocity of the tsunami was even measured and the estimate time of arrival was sixteen hundred hours. An hour after the initial alert, the locals were advised to prepare for evacuation. The fisher folks and the coast guards reported an eerie strange rumbling that seem to emanate from the depths of the ocean, but, thank God, the waves that came our way were not as deadly as the tsunamis that destroyed Japan.
Guys, you and I know it, we are still on an apocalyptic alert. Keep your watch and stay safe!

Hiya eileen,
Sierra Madre, Madre being Mother that protects all I like that name Sierra Madre and am so glad that it can protect you all.
It is good that you all take such precautions as well. Very sensible to believe that those Waves can hit where you are and be so powerful.
Good to see that you have natural protection from such danger.

Hiya eileen,
Before you told me I would never have known about this Range of Mountains what a lovely comforting name. The Earth is our Mother but sometimes I feel safe being by Mountains even though I don´t fancy climbing them at all.
Those Mountains must surely take a great beating with Waves like those ones.
Must be a lot of Tourists go there to admire the Sierra itself as well. They are located along the North Eastern Coast of Luzon Island. It also goes into Nuevo Vizcaya to form the Caraballo Mountains. I have taken a look at the very few photos of it but they are beautfiful. Yes I can see that they do protect.
Reminds me of the Mountain Range in Navarra. I found a Photo of part of a place called Nueva Ecija and there is photo of a little Girl with a big reddish scarlet coloured flower in her hair she is just beautiful. Face of an Angel.
This all reminds me of Spain but different.

I think that this year is as good as any other year. It is just that this year, the earth started shaking, prompting us to check if we are lacking in our ways of helping clean Mother Earth.

Hi Eileen,
So glad to hear that you are safe. What happened in Japan is, well there are no words. It's horrible. Someone came into my work and was telling me that it shifted the earth so much that it actually shifted our time. I haven't yet heard anything official on that yet. I also heard that the sun rose two days early in Alaska which if true is astronomical. It's horrible and sad.

Yes, reports are coming out that the series of quakes in the ring of fire are caused by the pull of the Super Moon. Hmmm, man is back to "wonder", despite advance technology and science. Let's see if we can conquer this new astronomical frontier.

Seeing how that 8.9 earthquake and the tsunami that hit Japan yesterday was like a nightmare. Since our country lies on that same Pacific ocean, I was really nervous thinking that tsunami will also hit our coastline. The government and television stations were busy announcing and giving warnings to people to evacuate the coastline and go to higher places. Yesterday's earthquake was among the strongest earthquakes recorded. I don't know it this has something to do with the earth's pole shift. But let's all be careful, keep praying and stay safe.

Science researchers are speculating the earthquake is an effect of the Super Moon!

The mall that our company has is by the seaside, so yesterday we have to let all the tenants close shop at 5:30 p.m. Classes were suspended by 3:00 p.m. and we were also made to go home at 4:00 p.m.
The people were all in a hurry to go home, plus some people were evacuating because the city is near the sea. There was flurry and it caused traffic jam.
Thank God the tsunami didn't materialize.

I panicked too and did made some calls and texts to warn loved ones and friends. We can never be prepared for disasters of colossal proportion. But we can try and say that we did what we have to do in order to help preserve life.

The thing we can do about that apocalyptic alert is to find God, when we finally find God (actually we don't need to find God, cause God is always their for us. He's waiting for us to call Him) ask for His forgiveness, take away our sins and the evil into our life. Then Pray for the better of the world, don't focus only for our selves, let us pray for every one, for our country, for the world salvation. God is the only way, the way of love and safe. So, Guys! don't forget God is always their for us, but also don't forget that we are sinners and need to go down in the feet of our Almighty Lord. Let us PRAY together! God may bless us all...

I was playing Super Mario Bros. last night during "Grey's Anatomy", and once I turned off my game, the news came on and all I could hear and see what "Earthquake in Sendai, Japan, magnitude 8.9!" I had to tell my mom and turn on my main television as soon as I could. My cousin wasn't far from the Earthquake epicenter and he felt the whole thing. Did hear if he felt the aftershocks, but I can bet he probably did. The main quake lasted 5 minutes. That's NUTS!
The Northridge didn't even last that long. It was a few seconds.
Okay, to those of you who don't know, I am from California, the southern part of the state near Los Angeles, and I have been in earthquakes since I was in the womb (Yeah, I felt the Whitter and Sylmar quakes). I have seen the San Andreas Fault, and I know how brutal earthquakes can be, but this one trump every single one that I have ever been in.
The California Coast was issued a Tsunami Warning, telling us to evacuate the coast and get to the Inlands because we didn't know if the Tsunami would hit us.
This has been the fifth biggest quake in history. One of the biggest record for California, was the infamous San Francisco Earthquake. That was the earthquake of all Earthquakes in California, but I was not alive, nor were my mother, and grandmother when that one hit. That quake hit in the early 1900s. We deemed it the "Mother of All Earthquakes" for California.
My heart goes out to the Japanese because I know what it's like to be in an Earthquake, also I am grateful, as always to the Japanese for the commerce and the technology that the Japanese have given to us. I love the Japanese culture, especially Anime, manga, and the Nintendo gaming systems, and I think that the Japanese can and will recover, but it will take a lot of time.
This is NOT the Apocalypse because quakes like this do happen, they are just very rare. In California's history, our state has had Earthquakes since long before the Conquistadors came here. We know that they happen and that they are apart of living here in this state. We have evacuation plans, building codes, and several Earthquake drills to prepare us for the big one. We have been told to buy emergency supplies and to be ready in case the big one does hit. We are not strangers to Earthquakes, it is what it is. The Japanese are no strangers to Earthquakes either, they happen to them very often. It is a part of Japanese life.

I do not know if I could stand to live in such a precarious location. However people feel the same way about other disasters in other parts of the world, like tornadoes and hurricanes. I feel sad about all the loss in Japan, and I will listen or be aware of what is going on in your country friend. I will remember to pray for you.

Prior to Japan's deadly super quake, there was a milder 6.3 quake that rocked China. The mainland was devastated, too.

Thank goodness that those of you that are in the Phillipines were spared of what could have been another terrible calamity on 3/11 and thank goodness that much of the rest of the world was spared of terrible distruction as well. Now, I'm not trying to minimize the damage that was done to those that live in Japan. However, I also think that this could have been a lot worse that what did end up happening away from Japan.

Ever since the tsunami and earthquake happened in japan, alerts were sent to surrounding countries, such as hongkong, taiwan, philippines as well as indonesia. It's such a sorry sight and state for japan because it's not being hit by one, but two natural diasters, right behind the other. Hopefully japan is able to recover from that soon and keep the number of deaths to its minimum.

everyone in my city was all very scared. Last night we are in the evacuation center.. Since our city is really facing the Pacific Ocean the city government thinks that it is better to forced evacuate the people than to take the risk of sacrificing their lives.
Good thing it didn't happen.. And hope it will not! Just got home from evacuation center!

The precaution was inconvenient but necessary. I was glad to see how orderly the people heeded to the short notice warning. We have to cling to our prayers, edsss.

I am from the PHILIPPINES, and oftentimes there were number of disasters that left us also devastated and the same feeling of fear as what is Japan facing now.The last we encountered was the flood caused by a super typhoon which was so threatening because you can really see only the top of the buildings, all areas flooded, no electricity, no gasoline , no water; with the scenario of as if already it's the end of the world. Let us just always pray.
