Another contraversial doll aimed at little girls

This doll was featured on the news. Apparently the mfgr thinks that lil girls not only should play with dolls but pretend to "nurse" them. I can't imagine why they'd need to learn this before it's their time to become a Mom. The girl in the pic in this article looks petrified. I know it's just a doll but I think this is pushing it a bit. http://www.nydailynews.com/lifestyle/2011/03/23/2011-03-23_breast_milk_baby_doll_teaches_young_girls_how_to_breastfeed.html

EWWW gross!! I sure as heck hope I don't even see that doll on the shelves.. I will probably throw a fit!
Yeah I realize nursing is a natural thing and yes I did nurse most of my kids.. but I think kids need to keep their innocence as long as they possibly can and don't need to be exposed to such things. Girls can learn how to nurse when they're baby is born..

Yeah, they will learn to nurse, but the odds are in their favor that they will graduate from high school and not know how to balance a check book, know what interest rates are and how it works for you, know how to deal with "credit" and income vs. expenses...or even how to change a tire or make a grilled cheese sandwich! But heaven forbid, they grow up not knowing how to nurse!

That girl does look disturbed and afraid! I think that's just awful! I can't imagine how many people have bought this, I'd think only a few, and going down the aisle this is one I would pass up on buying for my little nieces. It's not my place to buy a doll like that, and I doubt the mother's of my nieces would buy it for their kid either.

I would say "good grief, you're kidding me!" but you aren't. This is disgusting. So totally not needed! First, let the little ones be little ones while they can and enjoy life while they can! Second, no one needs to learn to "nurse" until they are pregnant! This is just teaching girls how to do it so that when they do do "it" at age 11 or so (which is apparently acceptable these days) they will know it is okay to be doing "it" as they are "prepared". If this is a "good" learning tool....save it and give it to women who are pregnant. They are the only ones that need to know how to do it. This inventory and toy company out to be horse whipped and and...well...you get the picture.

Why are we so adamant that children skip their childhood and become little adults as soon as they can walk? This really, really fries me!!
To many women, nursing come naturally and to those it doesn't there are lactation consultants. When you're pregnant is soon enough to learn about this but to burden children with thinking so far in the future is unconscionable.
This isn't just pushing it a bit, it's encouraging little girls to become mothers as soon as possible and destroying their formative childhood years. Berjuan Toys should be ashamed of itself!

I am repulsed. Let little girls be little girls and have a childhood for God's sake. This is awful!

hi, i went through the link and yes i feel its too early to learn things like that for a little child.she is a child and how come she needs the news or learning of the things which is of a dult thing.,the people who get such ideas are to be punished and i dont knw who allowed such thing who is the manufacturer and who gave persmission to sell such doll out.it is least common sense whihc eveyone knw what is needed at age of a kid and a adult.i feel ashamed to discuss this topic also.

I just voted NO on their mini poll for this doll and it seems that 63% of people agree with you and I. This is not right at all and yes the girl looks petrified. Kids grow up fast enough as it is, let them have their childhood first and become mothers before being taught this. Crazy. I really hope sales aren't good so that it is taken off of the market. Huggles. Ellie :D
