They mentioned on the news that Ford will discontinue putting in cd players starting on their focus model of car. And of course replace it with acommodations for digital players. Do you agree or disagree with the move to discontinue them? It doesn't bother me cause I only really listen to the radio or hubby has this lil thing with a memory card that plugs into the cig lighter. I haven't bought a cd in ages, I don't have the cash to spare and the kids will scratch the heck out of them as fast as fast can be. Do you agree or disagree with the move to discontinue them? Reminds me of when they took tape players out :0(

If I could afford a brand new car, then I wouldn't mind, because then I could afford one of those things that I can attach my iPod to and listen to my iPod in the car. However, I can't afford a new car or a radio with an iPod attatchment.. so I listen to a lot of CD's in the car since the radio gets boring after awhile.

And it's not like they are dropping it from the higher end Fords first either they are doing it w/ the Focus. I don't drive too far so I usually don't have anything on other than the radio. The last CD I bought was for DD1 for Christmas prior to that nada...

For people like me who don't have digital music and can't afford the players, the phones and stuff that play them, it's disappointing. But, like you, I usually am listening to the radio. For music, I find free downloads of songs I like and burn them onto a CD if I want something different from what I already have. None of my CDs are newer than 2005, they are just too expensive to buy.
