Celtic music is music that imitates the ancient musical style of the Celtic people in Ireland. A few examples of Celtic singers would be Loreena Mckennit and Enya.
Songs often future folklore or mystical subjects, and often use instruments from the Celtic period as well. I have to say so far this is my favorite genre.
Do you listen to Celtic music? If so do you like it or dislike it? Do you have a certain favorite kind of a favorite artist in the genre? :)

I love Celtic anything. Very into the knots as you can tell by my username avatar. Celticeagle is my username cause I am Irish and Native American Indian. I like to listen on Celtic Woman on You Tube during the holidays. The woman have beautiful voices and sing some lovely songs. I love the harp too.

Like most music, I like some and not others. Enya gets way too "samey" very quickly for me - one album and you've got everything she ever produced.
I enjoyed one or two of the Cranberries' songs, too, which are based on similar stuff, but they turned to poo after a single hit.
In a similar vein (not sure if it counts as Celtic, though the Celts were all over the place), I very much enjoyed Manau's 'Panique Celtique' - Breton Celtic music brought up to date and mixed with (light) rap. Strange, since I can't stand rap, but the two worked surprisingly well together. Of course, it helps to speak French.

Not the best one on the album. "Qui est la belette?" is fun, "Le tribu de Dana" is very good. There are a couple of slower ones, too, like "La confession" which is pretty heavy if you understand French.

Oh yes, I like Celtic music very much. It's very beautiful and very enchanting. I would say it is very unique in its own ways, lyrics and music. I watch on the TV quite often the Celtic groups sing and playing instruments. Orla Fallen is one the very excellent singers, bringing up all the beauties of Ireland.
