The other day i went to the restaurant with friends. We ordered lots of things and by the time i finished my main course i was full. My friend wanted to order desert but most of us were full. But she insisted a meal was incomplete without desert. Most of us ended up sharing or wasting the desert we ordered. I am not very particular to finish my meal with a dessert. I guess it is up to an individual. But why waste food is what i think. Do you always finish your meal with a dessert?

As for my family, we are not necessary to have a dessert to complete our meal. As long we are full with our meal, we are satisfied. But it is always a must to have a cup of drink to company our meal. So, i think it is depending on individual preference. I feel it is a waste of money if you are unable to finish the dessert when your stomach had been full with your meal.

Whether or not I eat dessert really depends on the size of the meal I eat. There are times when the meal is so big, I just don't have room for dessert.

Most of the time, I do have some dessert after a meal. At home, it's mostly fruits like bananas or mangoes or whatever's available. When I'm eating out though, I seldom get desserts except when I'm craving for something sweet. And when I order, I order the dessert the same time as I do my main meal. That way I can gauge what food I should order so that my stomach still has space for dessert.

If i at home i too eat a fruit after my dinner. Its better for your health too. I do like to have an ice cream but we need to have space in the stomach for it.

No I don't because I don't have a sweet tooth so it's useless for me and yes it is a waste of food if you buy it and you don't even finish it.

I don't finish any meal with a dessert now as it contains (usually) a lot of sugar and is very unhealthy. I used to eat them with nearly every meal and when I was young, I was fine, but as I grew older through my adult years, health problems started, that I had hardly noticed and it was all because I had become addicted to sweet foods. Thing are much better now, without dessert and whilst everybody else eats it when I am out, I am perfectly happy to go without and not longer even give it a second thought. _Derek

I do enjoy having desserts, but, I do not have them after every meal. I am more tempted to order dessert when dining out, but, more often than not resist that temptation. If dessert is ordered, most of the time it is shared by more than one person. It seems to lesson the "pain" of increased cost and possible "waste", not to mention the "pain" to the increase of "waist" in all partkers.

I rarely order dessert when eating out. I am usually stuffed by the end of the meal and end up taking some of my entree home. I did used to have a friend who said there is always room for dessert. If I have room and really want to order a dessert I go ahead and do so, but like I said earlier that happens only on rare occasions.

LIke you I can only eat my meal and not even all of that because portions are to much for me or I can eat a desert. Well since we go out to eat mostly at dinner then I certainly would not be eating a desert. So restaurants do not make money off of me on deserts. I always have to have a leftover box to take home on almost anything I eat.

This is only a habit. If I can have a desert is well, but it's no problem if I can't have a desert. I have a habit which I must have a bowl of soup before a meal

Yes, I always crave with sweets every meal. For me, a meal is not complete without a dessert. I sometimes have fruits like grapes, oranges, apples, bananas and watermelon. If fruits are not available, I would have one piece of chocolate. If ever I am eating out with family, friends and relatives I always see to it that my main course is not that much so that I could still have my dessert without wasting any.

Not really, and actually, here in my country, in Indonesia, most people not really quite familiar with the splitting of appetizer, main course, and desert. Only a simple eat to fill stomach and also to keep our body health xD :)) And also I against all kind of food wasting. Many people out there can't eat regularly, so why should we wasting our food?

I think it is mostly ladies who are fond of finishing meal with dessert. I don't know if this holds true with your experience. But as for me whenever we eat out with friends, the ladies are the ones who love to order desserts. I myself do love to eat dessert because anyway I don't really eat that much of the main course always. I want to complete my meal with a dessert all the time.

Hi kripa, I would agree with your friend,I too feel that a meal is incomplete without dessert.I like to eat at least a fruit after meal.Earlier , I used to prepare or buy at least 2 or 3 varieties of sweets, but b not any more .When we go out to restaurants for a meal I would love to have some nice dessert like ice cream , pastries or Indian sweets...Nowadays at home I keep some candy sugar which I have after my meal or a piece of chocolate once in a while..

to me not always dessert on the table. In general, I prefer it even to other dishes. I do so that all my children to eat and then give them something sweet. very nice to have dessert on the table. but now avoid it because I'm on a diet so only their children but our table did not. nice day!

when i eat out alone i dont usually order dessert even if i want to, its because my budget is just exact for happy meal, but if im with my family my father always order teramisu or fruit salad because he said we only eat out once or twice a month so we better make the most of it.
