Doing something NEW with friends?

I came to the realization that me and my friends do the exact. same. thing. every time we hang out. We either go shopping at this one store we like, walk around the lake, or sit at my house, drink beers, chit chat - it's fun, but it's not exciting and we are very not-spontaneous people. I feel like I'm stuck in a rut. A boredom rut. We don't meet new people, we just do the same thing over and over again.
What do you do with your friends, is what I'm wondering? And have you ever been in my position, where you start to feel bored - restless, with the same activity over and over again?
The only problem is that none of us have a whole lot of money to spend.
What are some "new" and "exciting" things to do on a budget, with friends?

Hiking has been a recent favorite of ours. It doesn't really cost much, and we get a little exercise out of it. We do meet a few people on the trail, and mostly are in the same boat as us. Not too healthy, without much money, and just bored sitting around at home.

I don't know if I'll be much help here with ideas for new and exciting things, because when my friends and I get together we like wise do the same things. Not that I'm bored with that but I understand where you are coming from. It is completely reasonable the things that you and your friends are doing when you don't have a lot of money. I completely understand. I guess if you all saved up and pitched in you could do something different. Like have a girl's get away weekend. See what the local area attractions are and the places to eat and stay near buy. I don't know what part of the country you live in but you could search around for girl's weekend getaway packages. If there are any lazertag arenas, plays, concerts, etc. This could change it up a bit.
