Although I do not start many discussions, I do generate a lot of responses when I do. I read and comment to all responses, so I am one of the many that does enjoy the loads of responses I receive. Even if the discussion is an older one I will still comment on them.
If I see a discussion that interests me, I do read the responses and if there is something I can add as I read the responses, I will comment in their as well. It really does not matter to me that it is older and or newer discussion. What grabs my attention is the topic. Now if I can't add to one then after reading the discussion and or responses I may not respond, so I do not duplicate.

It seems like most of us feel that way! :) Discussions with a lot of responses feel tired to me. A discussion with more than two pages is to crowded. I tend to just read the ones over two pages long.
First of all the chance of your response actually being seen is reduced. Let's face it: even the most diligent myLotter is going to get tired of commented on all of those responses after a page or two. Most will probably be tempted to abandon the discussion. Your response will lie back there untouched and unread. You still get paid for it of course but there is something about receiving a comment on it that makes the discussion feel complete.
It is also much harder to think of something fresh to say. Once thirty people or so have ripped apart a discussion, there isn't much left to say! And where is the fun in repeating what everyone else has said?
I'm just a small discussion girl I guess.

vycess oh I am so glad all here do not think that way as I have got a lots of responses but still love to hear from others and I know I am not deterred by a lot of responses if the topic and discussion really interest me and specially if its from one of my friends too.
Guess I am not too choosy and sometimes older discussions are still goodies too.I know here in the Us so many think the word old is really something awful and the respect shown to us with white hair is sometimes lacking or patronizing like you would pat an old wheezy dog or something. Some countries actually appreciate us older people which is nice to know.I can tell you I will appreciate your response as you can always add your own distinctive flavor to
a response. lol lol and I will comment back even if it takes me
a few days, I will not leave my responses unanswered.

I respond to both although I know someone might not get around to commenting back on it. I still respond to these kind of discussions because what I have to say could still help them out or could be something someone else might of missed.

I'm new, and sometimes I want to start a discussion on something so I do a search to see if the discussion already exists, so I don't duplicate. Sometimes I see that discussion I want, but maybe it is four or five years old. If it is really something I want to discuss, I go ahead and respond. I get paid whether anyone reads it or not. And who knows how many people like me were not even here when this discussion was posted and they might also like to talk about that subject? So maybe I can bring an old discussion back to life that might not have been noticed by many newer MyLotters.

my friend who had referd me here told me that i must not respond those discussion who have a large no of responses alredy there, but i like to do as i feel where i can respond i must be capable of putting some quality so i go for the quality and not the quantity.
As i in few days explorinf faq and many discussion i found that imust not make alittle useless discussion rather meaning ful and a good one. I therefoe resnod there where i feel i would be able cope with the other responses and get attention.

Hi vycess, I would like to join in a discussion if it goes along with my taste. And of course I have something to share with and couldn't help typing straight away. The quantity of responses in that discussion won't affect my interest to post a response
I'm not choosy and I like both new and old discussions which I'm interested

I think there is nothing wrong in responding to discussions with a lot of participation.
Yes, that your response may get lost in the mix of things, but it isn't necessarily true specially for some users who also take the time to read and respond to all posts.

Why not? I don't have a problem with responding to discussion with lots of posts. It keeps it alive and sort of refreshes it. There are many, and I mean many discussions here on MyLot and I think it's impossible to get to everyone of them. But I respond to the ones that interest me even if there are lots of responses.

sometimes i feel the same way as you do vycess. i dont like to respond anymore if there are a lot of comments like 30 or more but then sometimes even if there are a lot of comments and i would want my little voice to be heard, i dont care if i am the 40th commenter, i will still say what i want.

If I think that the discussion is worth responding for and it's on my interest. Then lots of previous responds will not matter to me. As long as I have shared my idea then i will go for it.
I love expressing myself with those discussions that has sense. no once could stop me if i want to express my feelings.

I only respond to a discussion that is of my interest no matter it is old or new discussion. Even though there are already a lot of responses in a discussion I still respond if that discussion is of my interest

I usually will. I usually try to add something to the conversation that wasn't already there. Or sometimes it helps if someone sees that a lot of people are having the same issues or situations. Plus even if there is a lot, I get paid for responding, so why not?

Yes, I still respond to such discussions. As long as I express my opinions, it is but just fine. But as I know, many mylotters usually read those responses of your even though it is already at the high numbered page. Either the topic starter or other responding myLotters, I believe someone still reads them up. Maybe to the exception of those well observed response collector your responses will just be ignored. But if you replied to veterans and great myLotters in here, your responses will surely be given attention to. Also, responding even to those discussions with already many responses brings about earning opportunity in here.
