I don't know much about my city

I have just picked my friends up from Denmark. On the road from airport, they have asked me very much. Example: how many people in this city? What meaning of the large square? Where do they can take picnic in the city? Are there many museums? etc... I almost can't answer them! Because I rarely go out or walking around city. I have realized that I don't know much about my city. I only go to office, then staying at home after going back. How about you? Have you ever been in the same situation?

It is not strange. Although you were born and grow up in your city, however, you will not know the status about your city as well as the geography book:) Probably I will be the same since I don't know many roads. I love China

We have very few road signs around here to let us know which road is which and what the name of it is.

Me too, sometimes they ask me what's the special food in your province. I just say I don't know.

That is the same way with the city we live in now. We are not from here and do not know much about it.

I lived in another city for a few years. Since I was new there, I probably learned more about it than the city I am from. After a few years I moved back home but still didn't learn much about the place.

I had the same experience when I had visitors come over. Although I find time to bring them around the city, I can't seem to answer some basic questions. O One asked me about the population, and I was drawing a blank. I couldn't even give a figure of how many people are in the city. I guess this is just a by-product of always being busy at work, and always doing the daily grind that you don't have any time for other information.

Being that I have lived here in my city all of my life and have frequent a great many places, also I have had a lot of out of town family and friends, I can say I do know my city well and the great many places to visit. There are probably some things I may not know but far more that I do. I have looked for more interesting places to go especially because of the frequent same visitors.

I guess so many people have encountered the same situation as you. Since they live in the city, they think that they could visit scenery spots and public places such as museums in the city at any time as they wish. But in reality, due to different reasons, they seldom have the spare time going there. On weekdays they are usually busy working. At weekends they'd rather stay at home for a break. On holidays they spend their time visiting scenery spots outside their cities.

Well I am very well aware about my city and I love to share my knowledge about my city with the rest of the world through my blog islooo talking point. I have shared almost 60 percent of places of my city by physical visits and taking my own pictures because I believe without personnel experience we can not share the true face of the place or spot. have a nice day

I too very seldom go out much. I wouldn't say that I know my city very well as there probably has been some changes made but at least I do know about the tourist attraction places to visit. Maybe you can check out those places in your city on the internet.

Sounds like you now have the opprotunity to see your city. Take advantage of it. We have a lot of adventures here, but I've never experienced any of them. I would rather keep to myself then go up in a hot air balloon that hovers over the rapid river. That just doesn't sound safe to me. Best Wishes!

Hi! :-) Me I never go out that much also but i make sure i know basic things about my city / country. It's not easy though being a tourist in our City / country. Even if we don't much explore physically but we have to be aware whats going around. That is so important. Well learn from with it and know your City then.:-)
