Do you find it convenient to symbolize your anger?

Focusing anger - To symbolize anger

I mean, having someone or something to focus your anger against?! I remember when I was back in university, and I was part of the activist movement, we didn't like what the government was doing. So we just focused our anger against the president at that time. I know he wasn't all that bad, but it was just convenient to make him the symbol of our anger. Or are you the type who would just hate the whole world when angry? And be just general about it. I think it's just healthier to have one symbol, as the anger is outwards; as opposed to being general which usually means the anger is being kept inside, and is not very healthy. How do you symbolize your anger?

I always have a target for my anger! Even when I kept inside , I had a target. Now I get the proper revenge and move on.

I think it's just convenient that way! I know some people would say that it's just not proper to direct anger on one specific person, or to be thinking of revenge, but everybody is different. And to have one focus could be one person's way of dealing with the anger. Thanks Sarah.

Well I may not be proper but at least there are more people alive this way. If I were told that I couldn't take revenge on the specific person who wronged me , I would inflict it on Everyone I meet. So some of those A$$holes who want me to be proper will be the ones getting hurt... bad! So they better just leave ma alone! So I rather be improper thank you. Ps. Sorry for the A word

thats interesting, as sometimes when something, usually political unfortunately, but not always, makes me angry, i find it quite overwhelming, and it makes me very tired, but i find it quite hard to focus it on one person, or symbol! i might try that, i might try what you've suggested, see if i can turn it into something motivating, rather than what happens at the moment. though i find it hard, as i don't like the idea of hating someone, or getting revenge or something, but i shall think about this.

I just think that it's unhealthy to be angry at something, and yet be general about it. I think it's wiser to focus on one thing, so that when that person or that symbol has been dealt with, then it's easier to move on. Thanks.

you are definitely right. because a lot of the things in politics that annoys me relates to bullying behaviour i have decided to hate bullies, and see how that goes.

Hi Bounce, I wish I could be more like TeamRose too! I think I could use a big dose of patience. Your question was if I find it convenient to symbolize my anger - absolutely! It is convenient, but I don't know that it's the right thing to do. I normally never let anything get under my skin, but there are times when I'm so quick to anger. While I don't blame people, it is convenient for me to symbolize my anger, for example, in my dogs, because they're misbehaving and causing me to become frustrated. Or my husband...yeah, that never goes over well - lol! I think whichever way you look at it, it's better to get the anger out than to keep it inside and self destruct!

I think it helps me too. I always have an object for my anger. Those are so easy to find, aren't they? lol I normally shy away from anger from other people, though. It takes a lot to get me upset anyway, so I guess it's better not to be angry at all. I know it happens, though! Thanks for your comment.

I guess that even though it isn't 'healthy', like in relationships, it does help us (in my case, keep my sanity) to have something to focus our anger. I wish I'd be like TeamRose too. Thanks!

It has never been general - always specific. I feel anger against out Prime Minister as we werein danger of being called a 'Rogue Country' as he brought our country to a standstill and over 100 were killed whilst he tried in vain to stop an extradition order from the US for one of our citizens. He kept saying that the man was innocent but the man has plead guilty just last week. I get angry as he has no shame and should have resigned and let his party choose another leader. He and some of his party cronies are the master of spin and they have the money I do not think it is good to keep anger inside of us. It is an emotion and we must learn to deal with it like any other emotion. Blessings

Hi cynthiann. I think I know now where your son has gotten his politcal convictions! I think that you've set a good example for him, so he could put this into action. How could he choose this one person over a 100 that were killed?! I bet there's money involved!

Holding anger is a wasted emotion. I try to move on when angry and focus my attention on the positives things in my life.

Hi teamrose. I wish I could be more like you. To not hold on to anger, and move on. I think life would be less stressful if I could be like that. Thanks.

when I'm angry and pissed off I go out for a walk or are close vkyshti until I pass. for me it is not right to go to any movement and to symbolize anger. when we are nervous because they do not know what to dial. so I do not approve of this idea when I'm angry and going to symbolize the anger of others. nice day!

Hello nezavisima. I guess everybody is different. If your disposition is always not to symbolize anger in others, then I think it's healthier. Thanks. What is is vkyshti?
