It takes some getting used to. I think once you get over your motivational problems, and actually get out there and do something you enjoy, it's a lot easier from there on to get motivated. For example I really like the elliptical machine. I started last week and now every couple of days I find myself wanting the outlet; wanting to get on it. It's weird, I know! As for the previous six months I have been super lazy as well. I think it just takes getting used to.. You could also try finding a hobby that involves moving your body. Join a dance class, take up a sport (like tennis), go kayaking, even things like gardening burn calories. So if you enjoy doing, chances are you will actually look forward to doing it & will be more motivated. Best of luck to you!

Well, me too! I keep thinking that if I only get a gym membership, then I wouldn't get too lazy, as I would dread all the wasted membership cost if I don't get to exercise. Or I would think that if I only get an exercise machine then I would be compelled to do it. But I think when the 'laziness' creeps in, I just don't get motivated enough.

There are these great starter exercises online that only take 5 to 8 minutes a day, so they are easy to fit into your day, they help get the body moving and then maybe you can move onto something else. I do know the feeling of not wanting to exercise, especially when your muscles are sore and tired but as long as there is no medical reason not to exercise it should be part of our weekly routine. Every so often I will get enthused will exercise and do everything right, feel great - exercising seems to give us more energy, then life gets in the way and it takes forever to restart, well I hope you have more will power then me.

Everybody sometimes gets lazy working out to stay fit. It happens to me to but I always force myself to work out. I never go to the gym simply because it costs me a lot of money. I prefer going out in the street very early in the morning when the air is still fresh and clean because there are only a few motor vechicles. Remember not to stop exercising more than 3 days. If you want to be off, do it only 2 days at the maximum.

Exercising has become part of my life consistently for three years. I remember my son use to say what is 30 minutes to an hour a day. So you have to be determined and no matter what try to do it at the same time each time so that way you can work it into a routine. My son also told me that if I signed up to a gym, to figure in another hour to and from to get there so why did I just not do it at home. So I bought a really great exercise bike and no matter how much I procrastinated, I jumped on it daily and told myself that one hour will go by very fast. I did so while watching TV and no matter how tired I was very determined. I have raised my metabolism so high along with healthy eating that now I only do so for 30 minutes 3 times a week.

I used to weight 250 pounds! It took me about a year to walk off about 100 pounds of that weight. So the more I think about how terrible I used to feel, how I had no energy at all, how it used to be so difficult for me to go upstairs or even get my fat self up off the couch... it makes me want to exercise just so I never have to feel that way again.

Hey we have the same problem you know. I really want to get rid on these excess flabs without lifting a finger. I kept searching on the internet for products that I could consume to decrease my appetite or to digest what I eat faster. Well, I could not find anything. Do you know Xenical? A professor of mine uses it and he says that it is so effective. However, it is so expensive. Before, my mom and I would go this park near our place and run for an hour. We did that for about three months but then laziness took hold of us and never released its grip. I think that whatever motivation anyone will tell you here would not make you want to exercise. Having a fit and healthy body should always start with you. YOu should be the one motivating yourself. Once you realize that being fit would benefit you, then that would be the time that you would have the energy to run the threadmill or do crunches. Goodluck to the both of us Hazelme. :)
