Alien ship and spy plane...

hello there... I just remembered a show on Discovery before a few years. This sudden recollection caused by another discussion on myLot, to be sure :-)... Before 4-5 decades, when the Cold war was real HOT, USA developed a spy plane. It had tremendous speed compared to the contemporary planes. Its shape was different too. And it was pained totally black... That plane would go over USSR in those days to take pictures, basically. It was seen by Russian people and as it was something unknown, they imagined name for it. It was largely believed then in Russia that an alien space ship was making rounds there. There were other speculations originated out of it. But this was the true story of UFOs-over-Russia... Today, when I read such claims, as to viewing and photographing UFOs, that episode on Discovery gets fresh in my mind... I'm not pessimistic about Aliens, but don't you think that other countries must be doing the same, and the UFOs that are viewed today, might they not be a spy plane??? What do you think??? Please share....

Hi Mr.Pearl, I kind of remember that story. I grew up in the 60's and early 70's when UFO's were a big thing. Nothing against the aliens but I was always a skeptic while acknowledging the possibility, if that makes any sense. I can't tell you how many nights my mom had us outside looking up into the sky in search of UFO's. We lived on the coast near Exeter which was a hotspot for many sightings and a book was written on them. Then there were Mr.& Mrs Hill who were well noted for their alien experience. My mother had met them and was convinced that aliens were spying on us. I do think that a lot if not all of the sightings probably have logical explanations. That being said, I don't discredit that there is the possibility of life on another planet. I guess I would be more one to question the fear factor.

Hi 3honor, I believe there could be life on other planets..why not? I find it hard to believe that if there were that it would be their life goal to spy on and try to figure us out or whatever. And as intelligent as we supposedly are, I would think we'd know and not just wonder about.

hello there... It is possible that there might be life somewhere in this vast universe. The conditions under which life originated on the earth, can take place somewhere else too, I believe... Yet, it is hard to imagine that they're spying on us for this long time. Why would they do that, spending 4-5 decades observing us??? No, for the present day UFOs the spy-plane explanation'll suffice.. And even if there is life on some distant planet, we have not been contacted because of the huge light years distance... We've not over come it yet. What do you think???

Hi Mr. Pearl, I agree with you. It is just too bizarre to imagine. I've read many books with theories on these UFOs and aliens etc. I'm sure you've heard the ones where they claim that our government has known about them and covered up for years and then there are all these accounts where people have "seen things" or in the case of the Hills..actually got abducted and returned back here. I remember as a kid think that my mom had lost her ever-loving mind dragging us outside late at night like that to stare at the sky! The spy-plane just makes so much more sense than all these other stories.

Hi... Thanks for sharing... Spy balloons is kind of old thing. And yet, its not impossible. Is there any evidence to what you say???

Wow this is new to me... Thanks for adding into my knowledge.. Did all the governments follow this???

That was a joke. "Weather balloons" are one of the official explanations for some of the reported UFO sightings. There is even a joke "UFO identification chart" where a bunch of different UFO and aircraft designs are labeled "weather balloon". Your post brought that image to mind.

Hi Ifa... There is no proof yet for the alien life... And the spy plane theory has got a lot of proofs.... Thanks for sharing.... :-)... Here is something to think over... Why do these objects appear in certain areas only???

Wow..good thinking. One can not deny that yes, there could be spy planes misunderstood as Alien ships. I do agree with you. But what would you say about these videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khascSsA18Y http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vyVe-6YdUk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vvoa9uIj1bo http://www.ufoevidence.org/cases/case486.htm (I'm sure these were not any spy planes) There is a possibility of everything on this planet, if we think that in last 14+ billion years we are the 'only' intelligent species in this universe on 'only' this planet then obviously it's a mistake. What do you think?

Hi... Thanks for sharing... I'll surely visit those links... I'm not denying the existence of alien species, its not impossible. What my point is, the alien species might not have over come the trouble of time travel.. Which is why we have not been visited. I mean, why would they keep spying on us? Why wouldn't they visit us or do whatever they want? Why would they keep watching only?

Hi... That is a good point... I think I need to extend the breadth of my view & do a little more research in that direction. I'll do that today as its my week off. The point you have made can't be denied. Human mind has a tendency to credit everything to God, when it doesn't understand anything. And there are many inexplicable things around... But if they want to destroy us, why would they take so long? Why won't they invade???

I believe in both, spy planes and UFOs. I have not seen an UFO before but i do believe in their existence. I'm sure other than Earth, there are some living creatures or life in some other planets where we don't know. Whatever is discovered up there, might not be announced or shared with the world, making us ignorant about them. If it's meant to be a spy plane, why should it be sighted? Once it's seen, their plans are considered foiled because spys are meant to be low profiled, not flying low.

Hi Miss... I too think sometimes that there must be life, except us, somewhere in the universe..but as we are placed a few hundred light years at least, it is not possible to communicate, neither for us or for them... As to the American spy plane, it wasn't often sighted in Russia. It mostly flew at greater heights, through the clouds.. The picture looks that of a bird. But the thought vanishes when you see the video clip, in which the so called bird goes very fast. It was sighted rarely in Russia... And remember, US Govt never said anything about these claims...

Hi... No the spy plane did not fly low.. The pics that I have show only a distant black spot among clouds and hadn't I see the video, I'd not have believed it... The video shows a black spec moving at a fast speed... It didn't fly low and couldn't be detected on radar too, that's the makers had aimed at...

Just wanted to point out that there's no point in flying a spy plane that can't spy anything. Flying low probably helps when trying to get a better look at whatever it is they're trying to spy. Also, stealthed planes are designed to be invisible on radar, but not to human eyes, if I remember correctly, since people were using radar to detect aircraft instead of standing around staring.
