Your trash talks

Every morning I cut through this little side street on my way to work.
Every house has trash sitting in front just about every day, it's amazing what you can tell from other peoples trash
.
You know if they drink heavily by all the empty beer cans, you know if they have kids by all the empty diaper boxes, if they like take out or if they bought anything new lately by the empty boxes.
Do you try to hide your trash so people don't know what your life style is?

Well we don't leave it out and about for others to see but we aren't hiding it either. We use the stretchy kind that holds tons of trash without ripping so we usually end up with only 1 large bag of garbage a week. boxes we rip up into smaller pieces so they will fit in trash we always crush or smash things to make them smaller so they take less space so we use less bags. I don't leave trash out because the many dogs and cats around like to rip into it and leave a mess that I have to clean up and that doesn't make me happy at all.

nothing worse then sifting through nasty foul smelling trash having to pick it up and clothespins just hurt to much to use..lol I have one dog who's on a chain..it's the neighbors who has about 9 dogs loose that does the damage...and nothing nastier then having dog poo all over your yard from their dogs..I'm thinking of looking for a way to keep them out of my yard besides a expensive fence.

That's messed up , your neighbor should go in halves at least if you have to put up a fence

That's the reason I never leave my trash sitting outside my door. There are cats all over that just tear up your trash.

hi dear missybear as we got to separate/recycle the trash here in good old Germany you will only see the big yellow plastic sacks outside every second Wednesday around here with the plastic trash in it. In our you will see where we shop for sausage or cold cuts for sandwiches most of the time, you will see lots of yoghurt containers in our trash, plus some candy wrappers of diabetic suitable low carb stuff, LOL, thats my traces in the trash sacks then. You also see some TVDinner stuff from my husband sometimes and sometimes you see we had more canned goods than at other times. Plus you see packages of skim milk we like to put in our coffee, yummmmmm.

yes mainly from this one shop where also people on a budget get excellent stuff, its irregular slices or torn ones but that wont matter as it ends up in the stomach anyways.

Hello missy bear.
Yes I do believe that trash talks about us and more importantly trash or it's lack can prove that we are doing our jobs (yes i mean recycling). I am sorry to say that Romanian systems are badly developed and I for one have to take the plastic / paper to WWF Romania's headquarters to be sure they will get recycled.

I don't hide my trash and I really don't care what people can see in my trash can. I actually enjoy trying to figure out people's life style by glancing at their trash when I walk by. It is kind of like when you go grocery shopping and you glance over at another person's shopping cart to see what they are buying.

That's what I do every morning when I walk through the neighbor hood.....trying to figure out who lives there.
Before I know it I'm at work...Hehe

We live out in the country on a small farm and burn all of our garbage. If we lived somewhere different, I don't believe we would hide our trash so others wouldn't know what we have/had.
Have a nice day.

Now would you hide your garbage so others wouldn't know what you have or had?

Absolutely! I shred bills and things like that when I throw them out and I am careful about cartons from things I buy. Living in a small community, I don't want everyone knowing my business and what I've been buying. There used to be people here who would think nothing of breaking in while you were out and pinching your stuff.

Everything that has my name and address on it I tear into little pieces and put them in different trash bags.

We have to put our trash in special green trash cans or the city just leaves it there. You can't even sit an extra bag beside the container because they won't get it. I am usually able to fit everything in the can so there is not a lot they could see about me anyway. Now if they dug through there...they could see stuff about me but as it is..I don't worry about that.

Interesting, here you put in what ever kinda can you like or just set the bags on the side walk.
I'm sure there are some sort of rules but I live in an apartment so we have the big dumpsters we just toss our garbage in and there is no recycling bins either.

I normally try to keep my trash in my backyard until it is trash pick up day. The good thing about my neighborhood is that most of the people do the same. I wouldn't want people knowing what I do or snooping around my trash. Because like you said, it is amazing how with just looking at your trash people can tell what type of life style we live.

That's good, some people set their trash out days ahead letting others see all they got going on.
