Are you making gifts form the Holidays? If so what and when did you start? I want to but just cannot seem to get myself in the mode to do more then a couple rows at a time. I know it is because life is upside downs till but usually knitting and other crafts is how I cope with stress and right now I just cannot seem to concentrate on anything...

I have two plaster houses that I will be painting and giving out as gifts. I also have a wooden plaque that I will be painting the words Season's Greetings and also painting plaster ornaments for my sister in law and brother in law. I have an aunt who loves my chocolate snowball cookies and has been hinting that she will miss these this year, so I will be sending those out as well. I am taking a jewelry making course this Wednesday and am hoping that I will be able to get a few pieces made before the holidays.

I make jewelry and I do like to give it as gifts. I usually do cookies but as we will not be home yet I do not think I can make as many as usual...

I made a couple of pairs of earings so far. I am hoping that next week I can try to make a bracelet. I am still in school so I am hoping to have some time off so I can work on more projects. I will be baking cookies tonight so I can ship these off next week.

I've always made gifts and gave low cost unique novelties as gifts. I had to be creative as I am low income. Some years I had to settle for hand made Christmas cards.
For my mother it was one of those hand made Christmas card years. It is hard to determine an appropriate gift for someone who is stuck in ICU.
For that matter, the Christmas spirit is about as healthy for me this year as a Raid sprayed cockroach because of my mother's health.

It's hard to get Christmasy when there is so much stress going on in our lives. I am trying so hard to get it going especially for my kids but they too are having a hard time getting into it.

My mother's been in the hospital sense February so there's a moratorium on Christmas in my life at the moment. For friends and family who do feel the Christmas spirit, I give them something but I'm in a brutal funk this year.

I used to make things for presents but since I had my computer I lost interest in crafts but I decided to make my own Christmas Cards on the computer, went and had printed but they came out too dark, I just can't seem to get used to the newer screens on the computer they are not true colour, so now I have to make up my mind do I send dark personal cards or shop bought cards that I already have...oh well if that is the biggest problem I have then I am doing ok..

I think the computer has killed the crafting bug for many people. They are just too busy online to do other things.

I know the holidays are over now but I just found this thread. How did everyone do on your various gift-making plans? I knitted 15 hats as Christmas gifts, mostly from yarn I already had in my stash as finances are fairly tight right now. I fell slightly short of my goal of 18 hats as I ran out of time. It's all good though, because the family who didn't get any weren't expecting anything from me anyway. Maybe next Christmas for them. I had fairly good feedback (from the adults anyway, lol!) but they may have just been being kind as most of them turned out to fit smaller than I had imagined. My brother requested a "camo" hat for next year so that gives me an idea for the men, anyway.

Hi there OpinionatedLady,
Since the holidays is fast approaching, I am really busy doing gifts. But these gifts are not for my own. Hence these gifts are orders from our clients and customers, As we are making products intended for christmas presence.

For now, me and my husband are still on the planning about it as we are going to make all things organize before we finalize everything. A little at a time makes it perfect until Christmas finally comes. :-)
