zoom lens

As we are aware that cell phone camera has been improved significantly lately, they have higher and higher quality,latest sophisticated cell phones has more than 12 Megapixel resolution..It comparable with the cheaper digital camera in the market.The cell phones camera lens has also improved and already using latest technology, however the zoom capability still limited since they only allowed for digital zoom which is not as good as real digital camera analog zoom..So this going the main selling point for digital camera..even people found more practical to shot using cell phone since we can do it every moment..
What do you think about this zoom lens in cell phone camera?

I think that they're not nearly as good as my digital camera yet :-) And as they can't take as good pictures, they're not really practical either, they just make me annoyed *hehe*
But I have fairly expensive lenses, much more expensive than most mobile phone. And I've got a mobile phone without a camera. It's very cheap and doesn't alway do what it is supposed to do (send messages) but it has a quite good flash light.

Well, you have good points my friend. .Those mobile phone camera even with build in flash will not be able to compete with those original digital camera. People only using it frequently and love the practicality only, since we can direct upload our photos after shot to our friends email or social networking..However, if we are talking about quality then the digital camera image will be unbeatable even still depends on who is the photographer as well..

well, I agree with you that mobile phone with camera would be amazing feature and maybe people will start to forget about those digital camera especially those pocket camera. However, this could make the size of mobile phone getting bigger unless they found new technology that able to compress the size of zoom lens which is really fantastic.. But who knows that someday we will use this kind of feaure on our mobile phone...

There are three main parts of digital photography - The size of the sensor, the speed of the processor and the lens. The sensor is what takes the light and records the color on pixels. Your 12 mp phone will have 12 million points of color on your sensor, the larger the sensor the sharper the picture the smaller the sensor means you are trying to put more into the same or smaller area. The processor is the "Brains" of the camera. It converts the information from the sensor and creates your picture. You can have a great sensor and a top processor but if you have a low quality lens you will get low quality pictures. The best ens are made of glass. The phone lens is made of plastic. Camera phones will be fine for email photos but to make a large quality print you will need a much better camera.

well,really thanks for enlightening me about basic of digital camera..however, phone camera seems really handy and portable and we can send any photo instantly.. I mean we do not need to transfer to computer and compressed to smaller size..However, best lenses from glasses we would able to find in phone camera..I think there will be massive innovation in the future and zoom lens becomes better and better.appreciate your response..
