Bad decision today

I was defrosting my freezer and was almost done except for one chunk of ice. I made a foolish mistake and used a butter knife to try to knock it off. Well it came off but not before it sliced my finger! I drove myself to urgent care and got 6 stitches. It hurt like crazy! will it hurt as much when they take the stitches out?

Depends sometimes the skin that is healing gets numb for a while so you might not feel it. If it does hurt don't be afraid to say something to them. Perhaps the doctors can numb your finger a little so it wont hurt. I know when I got the stitches out of my leg after my operation I didn't feel a thing because the skin around that area was pretty much numb. I had no feeling there.

P.S. I meant to add that I hope you get to feeling better soon. That sounds like it might have been very painful.

Sorry to hear about the incident with your finger. Personally this would not be a Good way to end things especially when trying to defrost your refridgerator. I do hope everything will be OK. But over time the pain should stop, and it might even start itching more as the pain leaves as it is healing, and when you finally get the stitches removed there should usually be little pain if any.

Oh my! That was not a good thing to happen. I hope by now you're not feeling much pain. I know it usually stings alot after the cut is stitched....next time you will know better won't you? Won't you?

Ouchie! I couldn't imagine having that much damage from a butter knife. I'm sure you've gotten your stiches out by now since you first posted. I've had stitches in my finger but I was 7 so that was a long long time ago and I remember having to be tied down because I wouldn't stop moving and I was terrified.
