day. We built a civilization for some of the games and we did sequence which is a board, card and chip game. I lost 4/5 games because they're highly visual games and I was playing against a hearing impaired guy. I had to pull out all the stops for the last game. Bluff, get him to throw away cards for nothing, do all kinds of things to win. We did some stretching exercises between games. At the end I felt like I had been sitting too long all day, so he offered ping pong and we did that. I'm bad at ping pong. I hit the ball everywhere. Off the ceiling ceiling fan, staircase, myself, him, the floor, the pool table, surprised I managed to miss the dog. He offered me lunch. He offered all kinds of things to eat, but I went with peanut butter and honey with bananas with a glass of milk. So when was the last time you played board games? It's been years for me. What kinds of games do you like? I like vocabulary and sound games. Like scrabble, word yahzie, etc. Have you ever had a peanut butter and banana sandwhich? do you add anything else? Do you ever eat like a kid? So what did you do yesterday?

I love to play board and gard games. The last time I played was a few weeks ago. I like to play sequence it is really fun. I like to play a card game called rook but it takes four players. That is an awesome game. I usually play these games when we go over to our to my in laws. Glad that you had a good day with your friend.

Yeah It involves having more people. I think that it is great when family and friends can get together and enjoy one another's company. It really does make a great difference. You take care as well.

Hi writers Loved reading this one from you Kind of connected me with my good days when I would just play Carrom, Ludo(Snakes and Ladders) all day long and nearly do nothing else. Then when the professional life started, I missed out all the entertainments, get togethers and partying with friends. And as life sometimes takes a U-Turn, I am today back at these. I love (and am happy that I can pursue) carrom, chess and many evenings we (me and my wife) play carrom. Sometimes, I try explaining chess to her but she thinks she is better off with carrom. So when I play chess, it is mostly the PC to play with. Now that Windows 7 ships with a version of its own, it has become easier. In between games, there is some stretching for us as my arthritis doesnt allow me seated most of the time and when there are these breaks, I have some Popcorn, or even a juice or anything that I can find for myself - though my wife doesnt allow me coffee.

Sounds like fun. I like checkers, but I'm not one for chess. All the pieces can move so many ways, to boggles my mind. But my brother is always so proud that I cut out all the pieces on the back of a serious box with him and read the directions. I taught him to play, strangely enough. Now I don't remember how and since he has become stuck in a wheelchair, I understand that he is now a formidable apponnet. Good that we all exercise inbetween.

I think last Christmas when we were invited to my granddaughter's for the day. We played Monopoly. I used to play Scrabble alot when my mom was alive. Haven't tried the online one yet. I love word games and have recently gotten addicted to a slot game on Facebook. The graphics are great and really make it fun. I was playing Farkle and Bejeweled before that. Such fun and a great break from Mylot or my other writing.

Monopoly and Scrable, I love. Never heard of Farkle and Bejeweled, what are they? Mostly online games glitch or don't go as fast as I do or you have to wait forever for graphics. Give me old-fashioned board games any day.

I'm trying to stay away from Face Book. Worked 13 years in a state prison and 3 in a county jail. I don't need anyone finding me.

First...I love peanut butter and banana sandwiches but it has been almost as long since I have had one of those as it is I played a board game. I loved scrabble, Yahtzee, Life, Monopoly, and Charades. I haven't played in what seems a hundred years though. I don't even think I have a board game anymore but it sure sounds like you had fun.

I love all those games. Esp Charades. That's one I'd like to play again. You're a Mom. Teach the young'ens about peanut butter and banana sandwiches, they'll love you for it.

Sounds like you had a wonderful day. I haven't played board games in years. I like games like pictionary, monopoly, yahtzee, cards, etc. Once in a while I enjoy peanut butter and jam sandwiches. Yours sounded good too. It was not so cold yesterday and there wasn't much of a wind, so I took a walk. It was nice to get out and about. Have a nice day.

The last 3 you listed I've played and are good, I like them, but pictionary, I haven't been able to get people to play because it involves teams.

It was a nice walk. I went for a shorter one the next day, but haven't been able to go the last couple of days because it was to windy and everything was either covered with snow or ice. Hopefully it will warm up again soon, if not I will bundle up and take a walk just to get out of the house.

We use to play a lot of bard games when we were kids and the favorites were monopoly, checkers, chess etc... we also played a kind of poker game called "pusoy" with my brother and sister as well as baccarat or black jack and lucky nine. I also played ping pong, it's good for the eyes that are strained due to looking at one direction for a long time like the monitor. I still have my old pool table and cue sticks ( the one that uses wooden chips instead of balls) and I'm planning to set it up again in the extra space at the back of the house although I can't seem to find the time. Right now I'm teaching my eldest son to play chess and he seems to learn very fast. Yeah peanut butter sandwich, banana and milk haha.. nice to be kids again at least at heart, another one of those things Americans taught us to eat lol.

Yes, a lot of games are complicated but easier to learn when you play them

"Pusoy" is a variant of poker (as there are a lot), the deck of cards is dealt equally to four points or players so each point gets 13 cards. From your 13 cards you form the head (3 cards), the body (5 cards) and the tail (5 cards), you form it poker style so there are straights and flashes etc...equally dividing the strength of what you have at your disposal. After the players are done it's a best of three, staring from the head to the tail, strongest cards wins. I know my explanation is rather complicated but it's rather easy cause it's easier to learn it by playing it

Mostly, I worked yesterday. We bought new games at Christmas and played one. It is that new one called Logo. When we visit my brother and my dad we play card games. Ever hear of "Hand and Foot"? Online sites also say it is the same thing as Canasta. I think my family has some of its own rules. I do not remember the last time I ate like a kid, but I should. I think I need to go microwave some apples to go with our potato soup for tonight.

Believe it or not, even with today's technology, I still occasionally play board game..The last one was the game of "Life" with my son over winter break. I have been thinking about playing UNO if I can get my husband and other son involved, (because you know with UNO, the more players, the more fun..) but I don't know when I'd have time..Perhaps another week or two I will have my schoolwork organized enough to take the time, but then again I am also trying to work at finding a way to publish my story after a couple more tweaks..(I changed a couple things, so I have to make sure there are no anomalies)

This week I am about done, other than having to wait for my peers to reply, which I can't control that part and I am getting ready to see if someone did. If not, I have nothing to do today other than work on my story. Though I am having a great time over on FB right now, you know one of those times when someone posts up something so true it's funny?

I've only played Life a time or two. I used to play UNO when I went to my cousins as a kid all the time. College, I gave up everything for 4 years. Watching tv even. After 2 years, I had to give up Martial arts and most dancing even. You'll join the rest of the world soon enough. Yes, I just reread part of a story I wrote. The characters had just gone to a gold place, gotten paid for the gold they found. Then a few pages later, they set a trap for some one going to steal from them and I went and put the stupid gold as part of the trap. Same descriptions both times. If they sold the dang things, then they can't turn around and use them for a trap, now can they? I hate it when I change something and it creates what you call anomalies.

I love peanut butter, honey and banana sandwich, but I can't remember how long it has been when I last ate one. Our family always played board games and we always had a jigsaw puzzle in progress. But we never seem to do that anymore. To much TV and Internet interference.

Yes, you to find people without computers who don't like tv or are easily bored with the shows or people that think computers are a necessary evil or are burned out from doing them all day. He can only stand so much tv. He's a politician and is on computer as a necessary evil. Very true that it's hard to get people into board games again. I like the human interaction.

Ah good old board games. The thing that you really do need to pass the time in those days before the Internet. Of course, I can't bring myself to part with my good old board games, even if I have not played them regularly in years to say the very least to say the very least. There were just many times where we sat down and played games for hours. I think the last time I played a board game was when the power went out a few months ago. So I dusted off the old battleship game, bringing it out of the closet. There are just going to be a lot of times where I am tempted. Battleship and monopoly are two classic games, also enjoy some Scrabble and some Yahtzee as well. It is rather good to pass the time to say the least.

Battle ship is loads of fun. I used to play that at somebody's house, but I can't remember who. I don't think we have that game. Thanks for the memories and take care.

I played scrabble with my 6 year old daughter and 8 year old son during the last holiday (about 1 week ago for nearly 4 weeks). A good way for them to learn dutch but also English (if it was not possible to make a dutch word they were allowed to make an English word). We seldom eat while playing (or drink). And about you playing ping pong.. you might have hit the ball everywhere but at least you were able to hit it!

We played from 10AM to 3:30PM for the board games and then for half an hour for the ping pong. A long time to go without eating. So we had lunch. We didn't snack during it or anything. Yes, I'm getting better at ping pong, I am, at least, hitting it. You'r so right. Are you sure you don't know me? I've often wanted to try to do scrabble with French, but I spell even worse in that language. Dutch, that's neat. Thank you very much for responding. Take care.
