I used to LOVE that song. Did you ever figure out what in the world the lyrics were about? Eighth grade dance, I danced to the whole thing, the whole song! people were sitting down after half way through and I lasted the WHOLE song. Great memory!

Believe it or not, no. Never tried to find out the lyrics because I love the music! I can be found once in a while laying on the couch with my head phones on listening to the "vinyl" recording. I should have a sign that says-"leave me alone until the head phones are off"! LOL

Yes, I've been there with the headphones, but the music was LedZep lol. Immigrant Song is my fav to listen to with headphones.

Music has always affected me a lot. I can't stand Bob Seegar, for instance, because he was the favorite of a man I deeply loved--that man suddenly told me one day to move out because he was getting married that weekend after we'd lived together for a year. I can't listen to the song that was on the radio 11 years ago when I was bringing my dog's body home because he had to be euthanized because of a stroke. Every sad event of my life has a song connected to it. Strangely, I don't have many songs connected with the good things in my life. While I enjoy a variety of music genres, not many songs come to mind when I think of happy times. That's really unfortunate. But most music makes me very happy.

my memories are mixed, like the Bob Seger song that I heard the day my husband and I finalized our divorce. And the one I danced to with a man I fell in love with a few years later. Songs I've dedicated to my kids, like Simple Man (lynnard skynnard)for my firstborn son and Dust in the Wind (Kansas) for my third son, Bad to the Bone for my second son, and My Girl for my daughter, and Desperado by the Eagles for my youngest son. They fit them and I've dedicated them on the radio at one time or another for each of them. If I had a CD with all the songs on the sound track of my life, It would definately be a quadruple boxed set! lol
