The renovation work is going on, still we find lot of spiders in this portion, chemical sprays failed to kill them, a Professor of Zoology friend of ours told they are non-poisonous; but we want to get rid of them totally, am afraid, they will appear in the new home.
Any idea to kill them, do you have spiders in your home, here in almost every home, we have. Cobweb cleaning from corners is a must in weekends.
Please comment and share your valued opinion.
Sorry, I am no more regular here because of my and hubby Professor’s health issues.

Please bear with me, if I get time I will visit mylot.

We have spiders in our home to- a lot of them actually- although they are harmless and very easy to kill- they are just small, they don't exceed the size f a thumb nail..
You can kill them with any insecticide- even soap..

I hate spiders. Okay for real I am afraid of spiders. I like to watchg and observe. As long as they don't touch me. When I was living in Florida, USA. I was bit by a common orb spider which is non poisonous and non reaction. But I had a reaction. I was allergic to its bite. I was lucky as it was just a baby. Smaller than my finger tip. But it was a lesson learned. As I was bit on the hand but swelled up from my finger tips to the my arm pit. As that whole area felt like it was on fire. I felt so much pain it was unreal. I don't know how to get rid of them. I wish i did. Except for the big one in front of my window. I leave her alone because she gets the bugs that come out at night from the street light in front of my bedroom. But she lives outside.

If they are nonpoisonous that is good. It sounds like they have built up a resistance to the chemicals that you were trying to use. It may be worth some research as many times there are natural substances that will repel them. Borax is supposed to do that to roaches and lemons repel mosquitos. Maybe something makes the spiders want to run away too!

I do not know how well it really works, but I have read that spiders do not like citrus scents like lemon and orange. They recommend cleaning with products that have this type of aroma, because spiders will avoid it. Also, spiders seem to not like mothballs, either. Mothballs do not smell good, so using them in a lot of rooms inside might not be something you want to do. However, if you put them around the perimeter of your house, then it will not get rid of the spiders already in your house, but it might help to keep new ones from coming inside.

hi there,
ummm i don't really know how to get rid of them but we also don't use any chemicals. i think when they clean it they just use the room to reach for the webs.
i hope you and your husband get well soon.

is that picture of the spiders on your home? Kill it with fire, in fact burn the whole house to the ground to be safe :p. I'm kidding, what I usually do is I move everything from a room and hose it completely with water, I dunno if that would be such a good idea on a wood room, but spiders drown easily so its an efficient method. You could also try some natural repellents like citric fruits like lemons and limes, I have also heard of lavender used for that. Spray some around the house and most spiders will leave. However I don't know if that would work with those nightmares of the picture, maybe you can try spraying some lemon in one and see how it reacts, if it becomes crazy jumping around it works, do this careful since it could make it try to attack you :). Good luck

Spiders are really a nuisance in every place. In village there is large type of spiders. Since the home is made up of wood too (concrete only half portion) spiders are making their home easily in their wooden parts. I remember my father used kerosene oil to kill them. Spraying the kerosene oil over the spider may kill them. These spiders are poisoned types. Removing the webs is not so easy, even if regular cleaning is there, they make it back so quickly. At present, my sister in law is at home and she is allergic to this spider and its web, if she try to clean this web she becomes sick. It is another problem and she is asking the help of somebody to clean it.
But in this place, I am watching only small ones; it is very difficult to watch their presence.
I read in a magazine, cleaning its web with Neem leaves will remove them completely. I am not sure of its practical experience. Kerosene oil is also good to kill them.

If I saw a spider like that I would surly get worked up! How big is it? Looks quite large!
I guess I'm glad I live somewhere that has a winter and they don't get that big here.
I'm knocking down cob webs as I see them too upstairs. I need to get a stick or something to get the ones in the basement as thats where the active webs are and the ones in those are the size of a button on a pair of jeans but black in color. Sometimes I'd like to wish I could afford to "bomb" the house to get rid of them. But like anything they are a part of nature.
I'm sorry to hear you two are having health problems. Do take care of yourself :0)
